The Irish Coast Guard hosted a day of the International Maritime Rescue Federation Crew Exchange Program in Crosshaven CG station. We were joined by Search and Rescue colleagues from Sweden, Norway, France, Finland, Holland and the UK for a day of learning and sharing experiences
🏥 🚤 This morning, we deployed our new stretcher on exercise. The stretcher floats in water, and helps us package and transport someone with significant injuries in the boat.

The Coast Guard led a large scale multi agency maritime exercise today, Blue Horizon, simulating a response to a major maritime incident on the West coast, involving a fire and explosion onboard a passenger ferry. Thanks to all who participated in the exercise.#IRCG

The Coast Guard recently undertook training at the Hydra Command Suite run by Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service in Clonmel.
This was an excellent opportunity to train in a simulated manner, learning skills & methodologies well established by other Principal Emergency Services.

The Irish Coast Guard is assisting emergency services at the scene of a major incident in Creeslough Co. Donegal. The Sligo based Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 118 and the Mulroy Coast Guard team are assisting the operation.
The @IrishCoastGuard can report the safe rescue of the trapped individual from the cave at Downpatrick Head, Co. Mayo.
The individual was rescued by the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation with the help of a multi agency response.
