On this #MemorialDay we pause with grateful hearts to remember that freedom is not free, and to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in order that we might enjoy that freedom today. 🇺🇸
@philipnation Jumping back into our study through 2 Kings tomorrow!
2 Kings 17
A Tragic Irony
Pray that we would be convicted that syncretistic religion can never be true worship, and to be eager to recognize and repent of idolatry as it pops up in our lives.
From Valley of Vision, “Need of Grace”:
“Return again with showers of converting grace to a poor gospel-abusing sinner.”
To a “gospel-abusing sinner.” I will be most mindful of this phrase for a while, especially in light of two realities it reveals to me in such a stark way this morning:
1. How true a description it is of me.
2. How marvelous and astonishing his grace truly is!
@philipnation Preached through 2 Kings 5:1-6:7 (“The God who does not Fit in Our Little Box”) and a teenager who has seemed to be far from God put his trust in Christ!
@rosshayes Well very cool. Certainly seems like you’ve been diligent! I know you probably already have some folks doing this, but if I can encourage you or be a help to you in any way through the process, let me know!
@rosshayes Hey Ross! I’ve followed you for a while now. Have noticed that you are reading through the Bible. Didn’t catch what spurred you on to do that.
Also, with such an intense emphasis on God’s Word throughout Psalm 119, I’ve always love the idea of Ezra being the author. (Ezra 7:10)
