I’m a neurosurgeon specializing in brain tumor treatment & medical education. Grew up in Iowa City, IA, work at the Univ of Michigan. Opinions here are my own.
Thank you for the kind words, and for your consistent mentorship and guidance Dr. Pandey @Aditya_S_Pandey. Working in Dr. Hollon’s @ToddCHollon lab has been an incredible learning experience and I am truly grateful for the opportunity. Excited to share more results soon!
As many other oncologists will also attest, we were taught this was a dead end
It was, dogmatically, never going to work — kras was too much of a “greasy ball” to be targeted
And yet here we are, with truly meaningful survival curves👇

Sad news this morning, as University of Michigan president-elect Kent Syverud has been diagnosed with a form of brain cancer and will no longer serve as U-M's next president. More info here: https://t.co/E6gcj5g8Et
While it’s nice to be recognized, I am always humbled by the trust that a person puts in me to operate on their brain. It’s privilege to be able to help people like this & I’m thankful that I’ve been able to get here. #brainmetastasis#UM#UMneurosurgery https://t.co/2TVoyIxRZq
I sat in on the First Generation and Low Income UM student group had a great discussion panel of successfully matched M4s who shared may great tips, ideas, and experience. Great bunch of very resilient and industrious students. #firstgen#FGLI#UM#UMneurosurgery
I was honored to participate in the 2026 UM Diversity in Medicine conference today. Many good discussions, great talk by keynote speaker Dr. Rachel Hooper, and great to meet and learn from the other panelists!
Med students may be interested to know that physician compensation varies by specialty, as does time worked per year (based on weeks time off a year and hours worked per week on).
