🚨 Trump has pardoned Trevor Milton, a man convicted of stealing $695 million from investors.

This pardon came after Milton donated nearly $1 million to Trump's PAC.

Trump is now reportedly responsible for roughly 27.7% of the entire U.S. national debt accumulated under all presidents combined.

That is an astonishing figure historically.

The national debt just crossed $39 trillion.

President Trump has added roughly $12–13 trillion to the debt across his two terms in office.

That’s approximately 30% of ALL U.S. national debt accumulated since 1789.

In 2016, Trump said he would pay down the national debt “over a period of eight years.”

Instead:

- First term: +$7.8 trillion
- Second term: roughly +$4–5 trillion already

And yes, COVID affected first-term spending.

It does not explain adding another trillion dollars every five months without a pandemic.

A political movement built on:
“fiscal conservatism”
“small government”
“balanced budgets”

has now overseen the largest debt expansion tied to any single presidency in American history.

@no_stp_on_snek @antirez Yup - I was just saying that when the KV cache gets persisted to disk, compressing it gives a good sense of how information dense it is. My guess is LZ4 compression rates would drop from 1.5x-1.7x to 1.1x or less.

@antirez @no_stp_on_snek My PR for compression is getting 30%-50% KV cache compression with LZ4, so there is clearly some redundant information in the cache to squeeze out.

This New York Times piece is worth your time. Here’s what is happening, as simply as I can put it.

Back in January, Trump sued the IRS, an agency he controls, demanding $10 billion over the leak of his tax returns a number of years ago.

IRS lawyers did their jobs. They wrote a memo laying out the defenses that could beat the suit, including the fact that Trump filed too late. His own lawyer was in court when the leaker pleaded guilty in October 2023, more than two years before Trump sued.

The Justice Department never showed up to court. Never argued back. Never used the defenses sitting on their desk.

The judge got suspicious and ordered both sides to explain whether they were actually opposing each other or just colluding. The day before that brief was due, Trump dropped the suit.

Same day, his Justice Department announced a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization fund.” 

Trump gets a formal apology. The IRS agrees to drop any audits of him and his family, even though a 2024 Times report found a loss in an ongoing audit could cost him over $100 million.

The acting Attorney General, Trump’s former criminal defense attorney, picks the five commissioners who decide who gets paid. Trump can fire any of them. Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are not ruled out.

This is the most corrupt thing I’ve ever seen from an American president.

@GeminiApp - How about the ability to reliably add something to my calendar? I give it simple camp dates and it spins for MINUTES and then asks for confirmation 2 or more times and then adds it to the wrong calendar. This is a common use case and is ridiculous how broken it is.

@ivanfioravanti If you are reloading the same contexts a bunch of times, you might want to try out my ds4 PR #186 for lz4 compression of the kv cache. It should be faster than reading it uncompressed. If I built a sidecare app that recompressed at a higher level on idle, it would be MUCH faster

Just like trump said, the ballroom will cost $100 million and all $200 million of it will be privately funded. Taxpayers won't pay a cent of the $300 million because all $400 million of it will come from donations. Only $1 billion will have to come from the taxpayers.

This photograph shows James Zwerg, a college student from Wisconsin, after he was bęaten by a mob in Alabama for participating in the Freedom Rides.

Following the beating, he lost consciousness and was left unattended for hours as white ambulance crews refused to assist him. He was eventually taken to the hospital by an ambulance designated for Bląck patients. The incident took place in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1961.

At the hospital, Zwerg simply stated, “Segręgation must be stopped. It must be broken down.”

He’s still alive today at the ripe age of 85.
