Headteacher Update Podcast: Our new episode looks at how to deliver great school food & food education on a budget. Lots of great tips from guests @saltbutterbones (@ChefsinSchools) & two brilliant headteachers @jasorourke (@tastedfeed) & Hilary Priest: https://t.co/kHBe9XTKZa
TastEd (@tastedfeed, the food education charity I co-founded with head-teacher @jasorourke) is five this year! To celebrate, we are having a fundraising dinner at Honey and Smoke @Honeyandco with @we_are_food on 1st October. Tickets here. Do share. https://t.co/YzsasRApjz
We've got fully funded teacher training sessions available for primary schools in @DerbyCC and @Derbyshirecc.
Teachers have told us that during @tastedfeed lessons children try & enjoy a wide variety of new foods.

@simbar3 Hi Simon. Lovely to hear from you. Your message brings back memories of a 17-0 drumming from that college in Bradford when we turned out for Bretton Hall FC! 😂. I’m over in Sheffield quite a lot so would be good to visit you at one of your schools!
📢Fully Funded Teacher Training for Primary Schools!
We are offering FREE TastEd (sensory food education) teacher training to schools based in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Hertfordshire or Central Bedfordshire.

It's an honour on this #IWD24 to celebrate the incredible @tastedfeed founder @KitchenBee who spoke passionately to the @HLFoodObesity yesterday.
Let's be ambitious... @DepartmentforEd "We need a complete overhaul of the food education curriculum in England"
The part I totally failed to say, even though it was at the top of page 1 of my notes and @FranABox had kindly briefed me with the latest figures was that TastEd (@tastedfeed) now has more than 1000 schools and nurseries signed up! 771 schools & 471 nurseries.
I am so proud and honoured to work alongside @KitchenBee in the work we do with @tastedfeed. Bee spoke so passionately about the untapped potential of schools to positively improve children’s physical & mental wellbeing and to experience pleasure from healthy food. #FoodEducation
Feeling proud to have had the chance to talk about the benefits of @tastedfeed and why food literacy is essential in the House of Lords yrday @HLFoodObesity alongside @ChefsinSchools @sfmtweet. Pictured in the background is @jasorourke!
The main thing we asked for was an overhaul of the food education curriculum to give children a grounding in food literacy, with taste education as well as cooking graded to each year. It’s not o.k. that children are leaving school without so much as touching a tomato. 🍅
TastEd Founder @KitchenBee will be giving evidence to the @HLFoodObesity at 11.30am today alongside @ChefsinSchools, @sfmtweet & @LACA_UK
We're looking forward to being part of an important conversation about the role of food in schools.

The Soil Association's @Rob_Percival_ said it well! 👏Looking forward to this Thursday's committee with one of our founders @KitchenBee to continue the conversation.
Food literacy, like actual literacy, should be a universal right. It’s not ok that children are leaving school never having tasted, let alone learned to like, an apple or a carrot. I wrote about @tastedfeed for this excellent new policy edition of @vittlesmagazine
Totally agree with @HenryDimbleby saying that the introduction of Universal Free School Meals will change the culture in schools. This investment in our children’s health & well-being will not only bring benefits to them as individuals but also to our future society.
Crunchy, crunchier, crunchiest? 🥕🍎🥬
We had a great time exploring veg & fruit with @NewhamLondon's #HAF providers today. Equipping them with activities they can use to increase children's willingness to try new foods during the Easter hols and beyond. #sensoryfoodeducation
