Today crews are taking advantage of the cooler weather to make progress on containing the remaining hotspots in smouldering structures and along the wildfire perimeter closest to the townsite.
Wildfire update - July 25, 2024
Temperatures cooled and rain started shortly after midnight last night. The 10-15 mm of rainfall in the national park has led to minimal fire behaviour and spread today. This precipitation will likely keep fire behaviour low for the next 72 hours.

Parks Canada fire crews are responding to a wildfire in the Vine Creek area, located approximately 20 km northeast of Jasper townsite. Smoke is visible from Highway 16.

Parks Canada fire crews are currently responding to an out-of-control wildfire @JasperNP, 6 km north of Highway 16 and 22 km west of the Jasper townsite. The fire is approximately 2 - 3 ha. Parks Canada Initial Attack crew + helicopter conducting direct suppression activities.
