Saw a post that said “you can be a good person & still be a bad experience for someone.” You can HAVE good intentions & still cause confusion, disappointment & hurt.
girl to girl: sometimes you’ll find an old picture of yourself and suddenly realize you were actually beautiful during a time when you spent so much energy criticizing yourself.
I can tell people lack critical thinking skills, because why would it ever make sense for an NFL player to be carrying around a helmet like a purse at all times?
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
“No one is forcing you to work at that job you hatė.”
Rent is due, health insurance is tied to employment, groceries aren’t free. Yeah actually. Totally voluntary.
As a parent you shouldn't be telling your kids that you sacrificed your life for them, It’s hurtful and manipulative, and it’s not true. You chose to have your kids and nobody forced you to have them. Taking care of them is your responsibility.
Parental “sacrifice” is just a myth. A child's wellbeing is actually a parent's responsibility and not a favour. Any sacrifice is yours to bear, not theirs to repay.
Raise them fully cognizant of your challenges but know that it's duty, not charity.
