🇿🇦🇺🇸The truth about who is actually responsible for the fuel increases in South Africa… The US/Iran War, or the ANC ⁉️
Any businessman or individual with a basic understanding of profit and loss knows that when your customer market expands, your revenue should rise correspondingly. Normal operating expenses may also increase, but usually at a much lower rate, which should improve net profits.
In South Africa the population increased from 40.6 million in 1994 to 63.1 million in 2025. This represents an increase of 55.4% in the customer market, and thus represents a huge revenue increase for government fuel levies and profits.
Unemployment rose from 1.5 million in the early 1990s to 8.2 million in the first quarter of 2026. This is an increase of 447% in the number of unemployed people. It is no use of increasing your customer market with 55%, if the market who cannot buy or contribute to the profit, increased with 447%.
Since the ANC began its campaign against the apartheid regime, the rand fell from R1.48 per dollar and R4.00 per pound in 1984 to R3.27 per dollar and R6.00 per pound in 1993. (Buy the way, in 1974 during the Apartheid regime, the Americans had to pay $1.44 to buy R1.00). This was a drop in value of 122% against the dollar and 50% against the pound. Between then and 2010 (when the “Rainbow Nation” of the world was supposed to have been in such a better position than before) the rand weakened further to R7.32 per dollar (another 124% decline) and R11.30 per pound (another 89% decline). Since then, it has fallen a further 144% to R17.88 against the dollar and 108% against the pound (to R23.60). Overall, since the ANC came to power the rand has lost 403% of its value against the dollar and 263% against the pound. Just imagine what the previous regime could have accomplished just from this aspect of a Rand power. Where could South Africa have been if the Rand continued with its strength as opposed to the value it currently holds (R1.00 can today only buy $0.06 as opposed to when R1.00 could have bought $1.44).
Since the ANC came to power, the price of 93-octane petrol rose by 560% to R8.58 per litre in January 2011, at a time when the oil price stood at $96.52 per barrel. The petrol price continued climbing under the ANC and by January 2022 had reached R19.36 per litre - a further increase of 126% - while the oil price was lower at $92.53 per barrel. From the early 1990s, when petrol cost R1.28 per litre just before the end of apartheid, the price has risen by 1447% (One thousand four hundred and forty-seven – for those who don’t know how much 1447 is) to the current R26.76 per litre. Throughout this period the oil price has remained in a similar range: $94.35 per barrel recently, $83.42 in January 2023, $82.98 in January 2024, $79.27 in January 2025, $66.56 in July 2025, and $60.21 in January 2026.
The ANC would like the public to believe - and its propaganda against Israel and the US/Iran war encourages this view - that the war is the reason for the large petrol price increases experienced recently. The evidence, however, clearly shows that the ANC has been driving petrol prices steadily higher for more than 35 years. To blame a war and claim that disruptions in oil distribution and oil prices are the cause of these inflated prices is pure ludicrousness. Yet, the majority uneducated population believe this.
Simply ask yourself: How could 93-octane petrol cost R10 per litre in January 2008 when the oil price stood at $145 per barrel, yet today, in the midst of the US/Iran war with the oil price at $94.35 per barrel, we pay R26.76 per litre? That is a 168% increase in the petrol price while the oil price dropped by 35%.
During 1980, the Apartheid regime operated with an oil reserve of 100 000 000 barrels (We held 0.01% of the World oil reserves). By 1997, the ANC sold these reserves and then operated with only 26 700 000 barrels. Today we operate with only 15 000 000 barrels (We now hold only 0.00085% of the world oil reserves). By the time when the ANC took power, the previous regime produced more than 200 000 Barrels of oil per day. Today, 32 years later, we only produce 95 000 barrels per day. During 1992, South Africa imported 244 200 Barrels per day. By 1998, we had to import 386 700 Barrels per day, and today we need 397 708 Barrels per day.
Therefore:
▪️ The vehicle-driving-age population increased from 25 million in 1990 to 48.1 million in 2025. The ANC has been incapable of controlling the huge (approximately 16 million) immigration inflow, as well as being unable to provide the massive increased population with jobs.
▪️ The increased driver-age population represents a potential 90% increase in petrol users, which should automatically increase government revenue per litre of petrol in 2025 compared with the 1990s. Since then, the ANC has also introduced extra fees such as fuel levies. The ANC has been incapable of managing these large additional revenue streams, as well as the proceeds from selling the huge oil reserves inherited by the previous regime.
▪️ The rand dropped from R2.59 per dollar in 1990 to R17.88 per dollar in 2025 (a 591% decline). The ANC has been incapable of managing crime, business sentiment and internal corruption, and has destroyed previously strong relationships with countries that were allies for many decades. International countries no longer want to deal with a government who they cannot trust.
▪️ During periods when the oil price per barrel was $145 (January 2008), $96.52 (January 2011), $92.53 (January 2022) and $94.35 (September 2026 – US/Iran war), the South African 93-octane petrol price was R10.00, R8.58, R19.36 and R26.76 respectively. Over the past 32 years, when there was no war to blame for disrupted oil supply routes, the ANC still increased petrol prices by more than 1447%. Even while oil prices remained relatively stable around $92 per barrel during recent months of war, the petrol price has risen by a further 25% since January.
The question remains: Who is to blame for the petrol price increases? The US/Iran war that has not significantly affected the average monthly oil price per barrel… or the ANC government that has raised petrol prices by 1 447% since coming to power, increased the number of unemployed by 447%, sold our rich oil reserves which was there to carry us during exactly the times we are facing today, and who driven the value of the rand down by 591%?
It is time that voters start to think for themselves, instead of believing every nonsense that come from their chosen corrupt government officials.
This is actually insane. You can enter South Africa illegally, bypass a port of entry, have no visa, fail to report within five days and only later declare that you want asylum and Home Affairs must still accept your application without first requiring you to explain your illegal entry.
And people still don’t understand why South Africans are asking serious questions about our asylum system.
I have not seen White supremacy, Racism or White monopoly Capital stealing from the poor people in South Africa.
But I have seen the people who always remind black people how bad apartheid was, stealing from the poor masses.
Ronald Lamola is worsening relations with Washington
"SA deserves a foreign minister who grasps that his first duty is to the nation, not the ANC," writes @DonaldDavhie.

Johannesburg. Highway from OR Tambo International airport is dark. Streetlights are off. People running Ekurhuleni and Joburg have absolutely no shame. DO NOT VOTE FOR THE ANC!
It's remarkable how all these legacy journalists who consistently add the most malicious intentions imaginable to people they disagree with never engage with those people directly.
No one is against the economic empowerment of South Africans, the difference is that in the DA we want to see economic empowerment for all, not for the cadre elites that loot the state through the same BEE framework you are defending.
You’re not fooling me
So Julius Malema and a few idiots who have responded on my timeline really want to convince everyone else that the EFF is not a racist, anti-white party?
After all the scapegoating? The consistent incitement of violence? The characteristisation of white people as criminals in possession of stolen property? The vitriol?
They must be smoking something.
A police forensic report into former police minister Bheki Cele has recommended he be criminally prosecuted for allegedly receiving unlawful “gratification” from Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala’s companies https://t.co/on3YswJiXZ
“A serious lie has been told and I'm going to correct it, the mayor who was arrested is the ANC's mayor of Knysna, you lied, why did you lie” DA leader Geordin Gwyn Hill-Lewis
“The Lie was repeated by Mr Julius Malema and it was told by you, it is a terrible lie” Geordin Gwyn Hill-Lewis
IRS Forensic Investigators CEO Chad Thomas tells @Katlego_Msomi that minibus taxi industry bosses have created fear and a vast network involving politicians and law enforcement, to the point where they believe they are a law unto themselves. He says this makes it easier for them to move into other business sectors, where nothing less than extortion cartels are disguised as business forums .

Now I have more QUESTIONS why is this post deleted.
SOUTH AFRICA can you see what is happening? WAKE UP!!!!!
they are pushing POLICIES, behind your back! WAKE UP!!!!!
You are oppressed and robbed dry by the ANC government but it’s white people that you hate and blame for your poverty and joblessness . Are you okay upstairs?
Documents filed in the high court in Johannesburg reveal how a debt arising from work allegedly completed for the party in 2019 was formally acknowledged by then treasurer-general Paul Mashatile in 2022 but has since escalated to R36.4m, excluding additional interest and legal costs https://t.co/Z0nbgqldwq
Hard to believe there are still commentators out there desperately trying to convince people that it's actually AfriForum's fault that South Africa's worst diplomatic crisis post-1994 remains unresolved and continues to get worse.
Some analysts have completely torched their credibility on this hill, and for what? A warm, fuzzy feeling (virtue signal)? A paycheck in the mail? A refusal to admit they were wrong? To cover for a dying, race-mad party? To stick it to the Afrikaners? Only they know.
So here we go again. Another Minister Lamola personal insult aimed at an American leader (this time me) which, when denounced (which I’m doing now), will result in a demarche with a lecture about being “undiplomatic.” And then the South African government wonders why relations are collapsing.
If you have 64 people in a room, and 52 of them are rigging the rulebook against 4, that represents South Africa.
It is a nation of 63.5 million people using the law against a minority of 4.5 million white people.
No one demonstrates more prejudice or a deeper belief in black incapability than the current leaders; their actions show they are convinced black people cannot compete in a free market.
🚨 48 hours. Billboard gone.
We launched a billboard demanding accountability for the billions of litres of water lost in eThekwini. Why was it removed? And why don’t they want residents asking questions?
🗳️📌 On 4 November, take back your power, eThekwini. You deserve basic services that work, and a government that answers to YOU.
