9 rules for family worship from the great Southern Presbyterian, William S. Plumer:
1. Let it be at seasonable and convenient hours, commonly before breakfast and just after tea or supper.
2. Let it not be tediously long. It is sometimes painfully protracted. That is not edifying.
3. Let the reading of God’s word, prayer, and if possible, singing, be parts of each exercise.
4. Let great decorum and decent solemnity enter into all acts of family devotion.
5. Let not the presence of company nor business engagements interrupt the regular order for worship.
6. Let family mercies and afflictions be duly notices by him who leads in the exercises.
7. Continually labor to have the heart right and warm.
8. Be joyful and cheerful in the whole service.
9. Never give reproofs to others in the forms of prayer.
Here's something fun I've prepared for a webinar this Friday on New Testament Textual Criticism
If you can read some Greek, learn what these guys ⸀ ° ⸆ ⸋ ⸌ ⸉ ⸊ signify in the Nestle-Aland 28 Greek New Testament

Our church, like countless others around the world, gathers each Sunday to worship Jesus. Until January 18, 2026, we had done so in peace, grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in this nation. But that morning, just as I was about to read from John 13 on Jesus’s command to love one another, the peace was shattered. A group of agitators disrupted our service, accosted our members, and terrified our children. It was wrong. It was shameful. And it should never happen again.
God willing, the agitators will answer for their actions in a court of earthly justice. Yet my message remains the same: should any of them turn from their sins and trust in Christ, they need not fear the court of heaven. This is our prayer.

These aren’t display pieces. They’re for lending, teaching and shaping church life for years to come. Each selected church receives 10 copies for their church library.

Reformed culture needs a blue collar revival. Bring the gospel to the jails, plumbers, homeless shelters, ghettos, oil fields, mechanics, strippers, etc. And when they come, disciple them. Teach them why you do this & that in the worship service, etc. Get out of the ivory tower.
Don't forget how evil wokeness is, Christian.
The invasion of Cities Church was based on the idea that opposing "white people" due to "white privilege" is good (see church member's story).
This is a lie.
Don't accommodate this godless ideology.
Stand against it.
(2 Cor. 10)
Read this clear, courageous, Christ-exalting response from pastor @jonathanparnell to the disruption of the @citieschurch service this past Sunday. "Jesus is real."

“I trust God so much that I do not doubt he will provide whatever I need for body and soul, and will turn to my good whatever adversity he sends upon me in this vale of tears.
He is able to do this because he is almighty God; he desires to do this because he is a faithful Father.” (Heidelberg, Q26)
@AlexAndBooks_ Either paper or audiobooks for me. And mostly fiction when I am listening to an audiobook. Just can’t seem to walk away after reading an ebook and feel like I have really got ahold of what I just read.
