I had an amazing time watching #KaifiAurMain last night! The way Shabana ji and Kanwaljit described the lives of progressive poet Kaifi Azmi and his wife Shaukat (Shabana ji's mother) was captivating. Their first meeting, as well as the challenges they faced before and after independence, were beautifully depicted.

Shabana ji read Shaukat's lines, while Kanwaljit Singh ji read Kaifi Azmi's. And let me tell you, they were both amazing!

It was amazing to hear Jaswinder Singh and his band play some of Kaifi Azmi's most well-known songs.

Shabana Azmi and Kanwaljit Singh, both masters of their craft, were able to accurately capture every emotion in their narrations. Shabana Ji exudes beauty, poise, and grace.

Jaswinder Singh is an incredibly gifted and skilled ghazal singer. His father, renowned composer Kuldeep Singh, is best known for his ghazals "Tumko Dekha To Ye Khayal Aaya" and "Itni Shakti Hame Dena Daata." I am sure that Jaswinder Ji will continue Jagjit Singh's legacy because of his exceptionally nice voice and texture.

The entire crew received a standing ovation from the Bangalore audience.
