@SCShipyards Because people change USB devices way more ofthen than they change their wall outlets. We are talking about 3-5 year span for USB and +30 years for wall outlets.
@swaggboi_420@WillAddedDigits The fuse in the socket does not make the plug safer. Most of Schuko countries have their wiring done in a way that a extra fuse adds nothing. As for the other relevant safety features that UK plug has the Shuko plug also has. Both are very safe to use.
@AthelstanArc@EwanBen@bolli242 Extra safety feature that we don't need due to different designs in how we protect our circuitry. It doesn't make it safer though and both plugs are very safe. I just like schuko because it's reversible.
@EwanBen@bolli242 1. We have shuttered sockets
2. Our earth also touches before any other pins are even touching the shutters.
3. Also very sturdy design
4. Socket designed in a way that the plug itself doesn't need insulated pins and plugs without earth have insulated pins.
@EwanBen@bolli242 I'm electrician, I know exactly how your plugs work and having a fuse in the plug doesn't make it any safer than having a fuse in central panel.
Americans can't comprehend that I pay 24.99€/month for 300Mb/s speed with unlimited data/text/calls in Nordic and Baltic countries and 60gb in rest of EU/ETA countries.
Europeans can’t comprehend that you can live in nyc, take a 5-6 hours flight to San Francisco and you’re in the same country and don’t need to do anything about your phone. No extra charge for service.
In Europe you drive 10 min from Austria to Germany to buy cheaper groceries and you have to avoid using your phone because you’ll get extra charges as it’s another country and another cell provider.
That’s why euros use WhatsApp.
Most communications in the U.S. even far away in another state, don’t cost you more.
@ASchwarz007@75metalT "Engineer for optical navigation and positioning systems in aviation." hope I never gave to rely on your navigation skills if you claim this shithole is in Finland
@108Der@GabFluffy Less than 10k Sámi people live in Finland with most being near northern part of lapland (ivalo and up). Rovaniemi has 66k and Kemi/Tornio both ~20k. So you can see the density is not at the level that there's need for higways. The only Highway being between Kemi and Tornio.
@elektrotimmy@JormaMolo@P_Kallioniemi 🤦they aren't failing because of surface rust. They are failing because that "ball" can't stop withing safety specs.
@elektrotimmy@JormaMolo@P_Kallioniemi I literally live in this country. They are not "minor problems" if you fail your inspection. They are problems that prevent you from driving the car in our roads unless you fix it.
@elektrotimmy@P_Kallioniemi VW ID.4: 5.4%
Škoda Enyaq: 7.8%
Tesla Model 3: 58.7%
Tesla Model Y: 62.7%
Average EV: 23%
Worst Non Tesla EV Porche Taycan 12.55%
Worst ICE (Dacia Duster): 23%
They are not all gonna have those parts replaced at every service.
Tesla just cutting corners on cheap parts.
@elektrotimmy@P_Kallioniemi These same "minor problems" that Teslas fail over 50% of the time are the same ones that only 5% of VW id's fail. The most common failures are front-axle, read axle and brakes. They are not changing those at VW services. They literally just check if your blinker fluid is full...
