An ugly compulsive contrarianism has seeped into cricket when India plays. It is making any discussion of the game beyond repair. And at the forefront of this are some English cricket journalists, followed by a few Pakistanis. Aussies just light a fire and enjoy the carnage from the sidelines.
I repeat this all the time. If you don't like India, don't play against them. Even better, do not cover their games. Just cover the rest of the sport and avoid India. But you want Indian money. Indian cricket should be criticised for many things. BUT THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.
India ended up playing Japan because they benefit from this. But even in a case where the umpire is objectively wrong, the usual compulsive contrarians spew absolute rubbish. No rule was broken, no imaginary spirit of the game was broken.
I get that I am making a mistake on cricket when I do not cover the sport professionally. But these "journalists" do this job 24 x 7, and they keep making elementary errors. What a damn shame.

Allahabad High Court stayed UP govt order reserving 62 of the 85 MBBS seats in each of the 4 SCP govt medical colleges for SC candidates.
