China is the most important country in the world. I suspect it will dictate much of how the 21st century will play out.
I came to China to see what it's like in person, and what our future will look like. After 2 weeks there, these are my amateur observations.
Chinese cities are the most modern and functional cities I’ve been to. So much of them has been recently built, and so much building is still happening. Food delivery, transport, hotels, etc… are cheap and efficient, even accounting for local salaries.
I also saw very little evidence of grift. No scammy billboards, no constant upsells, and no tipping! I hate tipping, it’s a sign of cultural rot.
Clearly the CCP has made decades of great decisions to promote productivity and positive-sum economics. China will reap the rewards of those decisions for decades to come. As a resident of California, I’m jealous of government that actually improves things and likes to build.
Also apparent, is the CCP’s total security control. There are cameras and bag checks everywhere. The hotels all checked my visa status, and sent pictures of my passport to some WeChat group.
In the coming decades, I think many countries will struggle with aging populations, government spending, and centralized power. But it will hit China especially hard.
I’m still rooting for the west, but we will fall behind in many ways, it’s too late to avoid that. I hope we can somehow reverse the decay, and create better societies again. And hopefully ones that don’t rely on total centralized control.

✅ Vieron a Toluca alcanzarlos en Ligas
✅ Vieron a Atlas salir Bicampeón
✅ Vieron a América Tricampeón
✅ Vieron a Cruz Azul alcanzarlos en Títulos Oficiales
✅ Les Remontaron una final que iban ganando 2-0 de local
Pero ellos felices celebrando sus flamantes refuerzos gringos de la MLS
