He is Omar Abdullah. The grandson of Sheikh Abdullah. National Conferenceโs Vice President. Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir. He put his skull cap before the people of Kashmir for votes. Promised to correct current reservation policy where the share of general category has been reduced to 30% when the population is more than 70%.
Today he directed his MLAs to vote against the very bill brought by his own MLA Bashir Verri to correct this policy.
Let every general category student remember his face. Let everyone remember his name.
Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:51) warns believers against taking Jews and Christians as awliya (allies, protectors, or patrons), stating they are allies to one another, and warns that whoever allies with them becomes ONE OF THEM

THIS IS A SHOCKER. REGIONALLY โLOSS DUE TO RESERVATIONS MUCH HIGHER THAN ANTICIPATED
I had posed some questions pertaining to reservations. And these questions were mostly focused on regional disparities across all categories.
I will summarise it here and will also be addressing a press conference.

Kashmir as region is far far behind. The net loss of quotas to Kashmiri speaking population is of a much higher scale than we had thought.
The whole reservation concept is rigged against the Kashmiri speaking population and against ST or EWS living in Kashmir.
Even the ST population living in Kashmir is a net loser. They make up a meagre 15% of the total applicants from the ST pool.
RBA is almost same but when you adjust for population, against it is less. Kashmir population is approximately 7% more. And areas under RBA are almost same proportionately. Yet in number terms they are behind Jammu
And lastly the Committe set up by government on 10/12/2024 to examine grievances has no specific timeline for submitting report. We were told it is 6 months timeline.
The decline of Open Merit from 75% in 2018 to just 26% in 2024. What drastic changes over the past few years in j&k have brought us to this point? @sakinaitoo@OmarAbdullah .Itโs time to restore open merit back to its rightful 75% in NEET PG

@GuftarAhmedCh@OmarAbdullah Reservation ensures equal opportunities. ST1, ST2, and others should get quotas based on their population percentage. If STs (both) make up 25% of the population, they should receive an additional 5%. If their population is less, their quota should be adjusted accordingly.
