The HBCU Campaign Fund (HCF) joins the Jackson State University community and others in mourning the passing of Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony, a respected educator, communications pioneer, alumna, and devoted champion of student success. Dr. Hayes-Anthony served as acting president and as professor and chair of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at JSU. Her legacy of leadership, mentorship, and service will continue to inspire generations of students and professionals.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues, former students, and all who were impacted by her remarkable life and contributions. Rest in power, Dr. Hayes-Anthony. 🕊️
