According to Rafat Hussain, the women first asked to see wedding clothes and then abused him based on his religious identity. When he went to the police station to file a complaint, around 150 people reportedly surrounded the station in support of the women and allegedly tried to attack him. Bihar’s Minister of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Mrs. Sheela Mandal’s photo has surfaced, in which she is seen with a person named Maganoo Singh, who tied up a Muslim woman, Roshan Khatoon, who was observing Roza, brutally beat her, and when she asked for water, forced her to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine.

On February 25, 2026, during the month of Ramadan, Roshan Khatoon, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar, was brutally beaten while she was fasting. She later died on March 1.
Roshan Khatoon had gone to the village head’s house to resolve a dispute, where she was tied to a pole and beaten with sticks. The family claims that when she asked for water while fasting, instead of being given water, she was forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine. They allege that she was targeted because she was Muslim and that this was done to humiliate her.
Instead of being taken to the hospital in an injured condition, she was taken to the police station, where ₹50,000 was demanded.
In this case, 19 people were named as accused, but only one arrest was made, and the accused was released within a week. The family has accused the Bihar police of not conducting a proper investigation and of supporting the accused. It has also been stated that the accused have the backing of BJP and JDU.
