Today’s announcement of #Budget2025 includes a very modest increase to a limited number of PhD stipends.
This does not cover the majority of PhDs in Ireland who are funded by other bodies or not funded at all, and it still leaves all PhD stipends below the minimum wage.

Two weeks ago, I had the amazing chance to present my research at the Gordon Conference on Epilepsy in New Hampshire! First time in the US, connected with brilliant minds, and tried the famous Gordon lobster. Such an unforgettable experience—can’t wait for the next one!
Through education and public engagement, we're committed to building trust with all communities. Last week, we collaborated with @Cellexplorers, @CoreYouthServ, and Inchicore For All to host a workshop introducing young people to science, exploring DNA with hands-on experiments🧬
BIOHACKATHON: Call for Challenges! The CRT is looking for challenges that can be “hacked” by teams of @scienceirel students to generate solutions while providing students with experience of working on real world challenges: Call for Biohackathon challenges - Genomics Data Science
Delighted to be a part of the organising committee for VIBE/ICBG 2024, Ireland's largest bioinformatics conference!🧬

Our first committee member is Javier Villegas (@Javi_PhD), a @GenomicsCRT student at @RCSI_Irl 🎉
Javi is working on characterising the molecular landscape of temporal lobe epilepsy on human and mice models at a single-cell level. [1/2]
Exciting news... VIBE/ICBG is heading to Galway this December! 🎉
Join us on the 5th-6th December 2024 for the opportunity to engage with the bioinformatics community in Ireland and beyond! 🤩✨ [1/2]

Had a superb time last week at @RCSI_Irl's Research day, the event gave me the opportunity to present my current research on temporal lobe epilepsy with @GenomicsCRT & @Futureneuro_ie. Looking forward to what we can achieve before next year's!
🤝We're committed to including PPI at all stages of our #Research, to ensure diverse perspectives shape our projects. Kicking off our second in-person workshop today, with facilitator @Michael_TCAID, we're building a foundation for impactful collaboration & shared understanding👥
🎙️ Ahead of her Research Talk with @GenomicsEngland on January 30, we caught up with @microtemb to hear more about her research on miRNA variation in neurological conditions.
