Day 1 starting as an affiliate and journaling it here, heavily inspired in @Dougie1171

I have been reading all his tweets and while right now I can not afford to pay for the @orsonwbs guide because I have to choose between paying it or paying my testing ads, thank you also to him for inspiring me to start

I actually start from zero, null, 0, nada; meaning I don't have any experience at all in this.

I am a dev looking to make it in the affiliate "world".

I will start with ads just because it is a skill that really interests me and probably with Meta Ads like Dougie.

I already have some Meta & TikTok Ad accounts ready so my journey for tomorrow is looking for the offers to run and the creatives for them (probably UGC content).

Oh, since I am just starting, the first goal is 0 to $100/day (profit). Let's see how long does it take.

I am learning currently building “good” ads with AI, which probably will talk about later in my daily update but…

How do you build good bridge pages? Do you look for others in your niche working and make them similar? Do you straight copy them?

Days 13 going towards $100/day with affiliate

Got a conversion!!

Not profitable yet, but because I spent too much before it, but I think it is still learning and it will behave much better once it works.

While this is working, I am trying my best to get access to some network for ecom, pretty difficult without proofs but we will see 😅

Not much to update today, but that is good, it means we are doing progress.

Days 11 & 12 going towards $100/day with affiliate

Yesterday I had problems posting but that did not stop the progress.

Sadly I got rejected of several ecom networks for not having “proofs” of my performance.

But we should not stop!

So for the offer I already had ready, I have started the ads in Meta; both static and UGC. So far no conversions but also almost no spending so I would say we have to wait.

Hopefully tomorrow I can update you all with lots of conversions 🫡

Day 10 going towards $100/day with affiliate

Today it was more of a chill day, I was mostly out so I did little work but as I expected, no more conversions.

I requested access to many networks, waiting for Monday / Tuesday to get accepted in at least one; anyways I already got an offer to run.

I built a bridge page (an advertorial) although it still needs some more work tomorrow.

I already got setup everything for Facebook: the pixel, the new page, the ad account, the campaign…

I am finishing the creatives, initially I will test some static and some UGC.

Personally, I believe static should work better with this offer bit who knows

Plan for tomorrow is to finish the bridge page (it is already published just need tweaks), to finish the creatives and to launch the campaign.

I am somewhat motivated with this change in the plan because:

- I think this offer is powerful

- I have many ideas about how to scale it

- I have several other similar offers to also test soo

The only sad thing is to not have more conversion yet to announce but…

Day 10 going towards $100/day with affiliate

Today we got… a conversion!! 🤣

Yeah, it is not that much but it always feels good.

Basically I got $8.50 as earnings (not profits) (plus up to 12 months of $8.50 if the user keeps using the SaaS).

Not bad and I really like those recurring earnings although I have been thinking some things.

The recurring part is awesome but right now I am in negative, my CPA is higher than what I got and while if the user stays for 12 months I will be in profit and also the more the ads learn the cheaper the CPA will be in theory…

I have to pay the ads until that happens and with this… this wouldn’t work unless I got already some earnings.

So I am planning the following:
- To run this offer organic (not part of this journey)

- To start testing an ecom offer that will generate more (I expect) with lower CPA, meaning it will be self-sustainable (ignoring the net-30 payouts…)

- Later on, once I have more cashflow, run again SaaS offers, because the recurring part is something awesome

Well, it is not just a plan, today I have spent the entire day getting everything ready for the new ecom offer and tomorrow it will launch.

But anyways, it is always awesome start seeing things moving in the journey.

Now, for ecom I have applied in multiple networks but while I get approved I will run some offer from some similar network

@XaviScales @Dougie1171 Well, the comoanies owning the offers have lots of ads working pretty well, it is just that I think finding affiliate ads for SaaS in the Meta Ads Library is complicated, but I think they must be there 😅

As @Dougie1171 suggested me, since I am just running WH, using my personal account is fine for ads (I hope) so that is what I am doing.

Sadly that means it is not really safe to run the bizopp offer I had in mind, it was not BH but I don’t feel it is WH enough.

So I am trying some SaaS affiliate offers, the thing I like is they have recurring commissions

But let me tell you something: I was not able to find any other affiliate in the Ads Library running SaaS affiliates in Meta.

Maybe I don’t know to search for that, maybe it does not work?

My first set of ads are just statics without even bridge pages, both things probably are stupid…

But I have no idea

Maybe I should test also an ecom offer?

I don’t know so if any of you have any advice about running these offers, let me know 😅

Day 6 going towards $100/day with affiliate

As you may have already seen in a post today, I got my Meta Ad accounts suspended before I did anything (for real, I just clicked start campaign and got everything broken).

I am not sure of the reason but since they were bought accounts, and I bought dirty cheap proxies, I think it must be that…

I am now wondering if I should use some agency account since I will be doing only WH offers.

But at the same time I believe buying good agency accounts at this point of the journey, without having generated anything is stupid, since I know nothing.

I mean, I could run for a while native ads, I was already accepted in Taboola but… have any of you ran affiliate using native ads?

It seems more complicated than in Meta, due to being even colder the traffic.

Anyways, sorry for this boring update. But at the same time, I feel it is good to have these also posted, that way once we are generating good money, anyone wanting to learn can go to the first days and see the entire process and struggles

Day 8 going towards $100/day with affiliate

Today it has been a busy day so not much to update here, but anyways as always I show up and tell you what is going on!

Ads in Meta are running, for now I don’t have any conversion (😢) although no worries, it is learning.

Budget for the ads is low and I have not tried lots of things, if I could I would love to try at the same time for hooks, more bridge pages, more statics, more videos… but right now we can’t so we will be little by little.

I am using UGC (with AI) and not static because I am trying to hook the user into how the tool solves their issue and I think for my type of user UGC is good.

Plus learning that skill is powerful, I guess.

Just a side note, as I said yesterday I am running super WH offer: SaaS offer. But it is more of a B2C offer, since big B2B offers usually have longer sales cycles and I think it does not fit really well my current flow, it would fit better some lead acquisition or some LinkedIn ads or similar.

I believe UGC for B2C SaaS must be powerful, my big doubt is about my bridge pages, tbh.

In a couple days maybe I post in more detail about that.

In the future, once you have this rolling, will you maybe use several agencies at the same time so if one goes down you still have the others?

Anyways, right now, as you said, I would just wait for them to solve it while improving the ads

Day 5 going towards $100/day with affiliate

Lots of new things going on!

I talked a bit with @orsonwbs and he gave me some pretty interesting recommendations which of course I will try! (I will talk about it later on, once I get some results)

Also, I got my Clickbank account back so another network I can use, pretty good tbh

I have two pretty good bizopp offers I will try and, as expected, I will be starting with Meta.

I have struggled for a while learning what is AOV, EPC, a tracker... too many new things but thanks to ChatGPT & @grok I got all of that sorted out.

Then I have spent much more time than I would like to picking a tracker and learning how to use it.

I wanted to use RedTrack but for now I think it is overkill for me, so I went with a cheap one which I saw some good reviews: BeMob, not easy to start with its UI either but I got it set up.

I am finishing some creatives (I will try UGC, I am trying right now with Higgsfields) and some hooks variations and tomorrow (finally!) is the big day where I send my ads for review and hopefully start spending (and earning?).

It is exciting, looking back, while I have not made money yet, I know much much more about this than 1 week ago, let's see how we are in 1 year!

@XaviScales @DandiG_ right! I won’t say organic is not good; organic is pretty awesome and I am building some stuff in the side, but it is more long term. For this journey, I focus in ads to do just as you said, scale and test quickly

Well, it is not exactly abut budget constrains, it is more about not spending without sense.

Like, if I got money for a super car but I just got my driver license, it does not make sense that my first car is that, I won't take advantage of it even if I can afford it

But yeah, I have considered organic, it is just that I feel knowing how to do ads is very powerful
