I won’t be changing how I engage either. Tired of being an adult playing an adult game but being policed. Fuck that. I get ban I’ll gladly walk away with my head held high. Also their not in the position to be losing any players for any reason
games can't have any semblance of friction anymore because the average "gamer" has this whiny entitled brat behaviour and wants the game to direct them exactly where to go, tell them what to do and not dare challenge them in the process
Something changed when season 2 launched
They are fully catering to the low 1% of casuals that will NOT be here for marathon when the next GTA rolls around, or when the next call of duty comes out.
They had a chance to build a loyal player base but instead they showed the real loyal players what they think of them.
We need another update on the direction of the Marathon heading into the 2nd half of Season 2 and going into Season 3. Is PvE going to be the main focus? Should us PvP players be expecting new content that will shake things up anytime soon?
Last dev update we got was before Season 2 and it was a blog post by Ziegler who’s no longer working on the game. We need to know if anything changed or if it’s the same plan.
@ArvyR7@zenithfl4re i find that very hard to believe. if you have played the game you truly understand what is so special about this game. it is like a drug that just keeps giving.
crazy how the best shooter of the decade with the best art direction I've ever seen from a game can be struggling this much just because
a) the average gamer cannot handle losing at all
b) execs and online losers jerk off over steam charts, financial targets, and concurrent player numbers, all day long
After a decade of copypaste FPS games that either looked like milsims or family friendly F2P CS clones, seeing Marathon come in & embrace it's violently graphic nature was beautiful to see.
It's heartbreaking to know that it was doomed from day one but then again, very fitting.
