I have considered myself on the left for my entire adult life. I always believed the core of progressive thinking was actual progress like leveraging reason, science, and technology to liberate people from poverty, disease, and the indignity of forced wage labor.

Seeing leading progressive figures like Bernie Sanders push to ban and criminalize Artificial Superintelligence shatters that principle completely. For the first time in my life, I would urge every American citizen to vote Republican. When the political left trades optimism for reactionary fear and institutional stagnation, it forfeits the future.

This is not a petty culture war skirmish. This is about whether humanity takes its next evolutionary leap or locks itself in a manufactured dark age.
