Grew up listening to Munson call the VU football and basketball games. He was the best VU ever had. Then Joe Fisher. Several good ones in between including Paul and Charlie Mac
A newsy wrinkle from Bevacqua: As part of an MOU signed last spring, Notre Dame is assured of a CFP berth if it is ranked in the top 12 starting next year.
If this year’s situation unfolds next year, the final at-large team (Miami) would have gotten bumped for No. 11 Notre Dame.
First, act like grown up’s and play the bowl game. Second, evaluate future schedules to determine if such schedules help or hurt NDs chances of making the CFP. If not, consider joining the SEC.
Everything that Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua should do in this aftermath:
- Boycott the bowl game
- Cancel the ACC scheduling deal
- Re evaluate the 2026 schedule
Notre Dame needs to go scorched earth on the college football world for this injustice
Wonder why they didn’t include Vanderbilt in the chart? Could it be that Vandy has better overall metrics than BYU, Miami, Notre Dame? You could throw in Tx as well.
CFP rankings are done to justify decisions made not to determine the best 25 football teams. Vols would beat all the teams the CFP have ranked 16 to 25, so would MIZZOU and probably LSU. Yet you cling to a politicized ranking.
@alainammorris Vandy had a great year. Here’s the bottom line. Vandy hasn’t beat anyone that is in the current ap poll/cfp poll. Also, that is the same of all of the opponents they beat. Especially since both opponents they lost to actually beat top opponents.
@DanWolken Dan don’t results on the field matter? They lost to the 2 best teams they played. Pavia a reason they lost 1. Likelihood is that they have zero top 25 wins once rankings come out tomorrow. Compelling, yes. Deserving? Can’t convince me.
Bama and Texas would have 3 losses. Both out. Miami beat ND head to head. Miami in. ND has 2 good losses and 1 good win. Vandy has 2 good losses and 3 good wins. ND out. BYU had 2 good losses, 1 good win. BYU out. Vandy in.
