I admit. I was impressed.
When he pushed back in one of the interviews and said "Europe has to grow out of the mindset that Europe's problems are the world's problems, but the world's problems are not Europe's problems".
It felt right. It was standing up against West’s bullying.

But thereafter, he lost it. In fact the govt lost it. We were too loud. Literally bullying. Meaningless muscle flexing. Too much of noise bytes.

He started seeing the world as extension of election campaign strategy. Foreign policy was reduced to speeches to inspire domestic audience.

3 developments destroyed my faith in Jaishankar. All snowballing with op Sindoor.

1. Turkey openly aligning with Pakistan in op indoor.
2. Post sindoor, Pak-S Arabia pact
3. India’s humiliation by Trump’s tariff. India still has no clue on how to deal with it. The draft FTA was insulting.

So, yes. He has been a disappointment. And good that he has finally shut up.

E 20 का गणित

चावल से भी Ethanol बनता है. सरकारी कंपनी FCI ने करीब ₹37 किलो भाव पर चावल ख़रीदा और Ethanol बनाने वाली Distilleries को करीब ₹23 किलो भाव पर बेचा. यह जानकारी सरकार ने राज्यसभा में दी है. इससे करीब ₹10 हज़ार करोड़ का नुक़सान होने का अनुमान है.

बात यहीं नहीं खत्म होती है. सरकार ने ख़ुद माना है कि तेल कंपनियाँ जिस भाव पर Ethanol ख़रीदी हैं वो पेट्रोल से ज़्यादा महंगा है. इस कारण E 20 पेट्रोल सस्ता नहीं बेचा जा सकता है. Ethanol बनाने के लिए एक तरह से सरकार सब्सिडी दे रही है, ये पैसा भी टैक्स देने वाली जनता ही चुका रही है.
