Earlier today I reached out to @KerryLynneFindl to congratulate her on her historic win, and also to wish her the wisdom, judgement, and fortitude required to chart a path ahead that best delivers on the potential of B.C., to the benefit of all.

I have also reached out to @NVanCaroline @PeterMilobar and @yuri_fulmer wishing them well as life returns to something resembling “normal” in the days ahead.

As I have said often in the last six months, it was a privilege to take part in the competition.

What an incredible journey.

When I launched this campaign on January 15, I did so with hope, optimism, and a deep belief in the future of British Columbia.

Since then, I have travelled to every corner of this province - meeting with members, community leaders, elected officials, volunteers, seniors, families, and so many British Columbians who are ready for change.

Everywhere I went, one message was clear: experience matters. It matters because B.C. needs serious leadership, real solutions, and a plan to restore hope, prosperity, and opportunity.

That is why I put forward my Five-Point Premier’s Plan - including a 20% personal income tax cut, a plan to get the books in order, and a clear plan to get our economy growing again so you, your family, and your community can prosper.

As we head into election night this evening, I am deeply grateful to the members of this party and proud of the true blue conservative values we have showcased across British Columbia.

What a great way to finish our whirlwind trip through the Kootenays!

First, many thanks to all our Members in Cranbrook, Castlegar, Nelson and Creston for taking the time to engage our team, and for caring so much about BC’s future.

Then, after an “invigorating” 5am start this morning 😬 to catch our flight from Cranbrook to Kelowna, Dale (see photo) approached us at the airport to introduce himself.

He wanted me to know that he recently joined our party …*specifically* to vote for me!

He did so because he believes I’m the only one who can defeat the NDP in a General Election, because of our commitment to repeal DRIPA as Job #1, and because of our bold, 5-point Premier’s Plan to fix our crippling economic challenges in BC, thereafter. (“Repeal DRIPA… THEN what?”)

Dale, great meeting you, and humbled to receive your vote… keep building British Columbia.

Here’s why-

On that debate stage, I was clear: we don’t need to compromise our principles to win. Also the Conservative leaders debate. My take: Black was most serious and premier like. Fulmer was too aggressive in his attacks on Elliott. Elliott was on the defensive more than anyone and weirdly played the culture identity card, ignoring real issues. Milobar was ignored and Findlay did better than expected. #bcpoli
