Having known Taylor for 15+ years while having the privilege of both playing and coaching alongside her, I can say I’d follow her leadership anywhere.

Taylor has always led with integrity, passion, love for the game, and a genuine care for her athletes as people and players.

To see someone of her character and dedication treated this way is incredibly disappointing and deeply unfair.

The world of softball will ALWAYS be better with Taylor Smartt in it.

UAB has parted ways with softball coach Taylor Smartt after a nearly three-month-long third-party investigation.

Softball On SI has obtained copies of emails from AD Mark Ingram and the third-party attorney Breanna Young.

Think about this:

30 of 32 first-round NFL picks played multiple sports in high school. Specialization training is not the answer.

@Bama_Gaston I’ve personally read the letter of accusations and this was never listed as an accusation. Complete and utter slander that has been incorrectly spread in the media.

@BrianRHodge I have read a great majority of the articles written on this matter and personally know many of the individuals involved. So yes, I have a well rounded view on the circumstances

[Jaycee Affeldt @jayaffeldt]

@Jumbodiamo68879 In fact, I do. Student athletes need to take accountability for their actions just as much as anyone else involved in athletics.

Our team faced some talented competition and battled hard at the Don Battles On showcase. All the strength training I’ve been committed to this offseason is paying off!
