What happened at the Kumbh?

Good evening friends. I am at Maha Kumbh 2025. And successfully took a dip at Sangam point on Mauni Amavashya.

I along with my wife we were, present at time of Stampede which occurred after 12 midnight.

We walked around 9 km Just to get to sector - 2 of Sangam ghat - the nose of Sangam point. For entire 9 km walk, I experienced all devotees were following the police direction peacefully.

After 12 midnight, I saw there were group of about 40-50 young boys, entering the Sangam point, few were carrying red flags. As per my observations these were the main culprits of this stampede. Their age was around 20+ years and above, who started it. These hooligans actually started pushing and stamping over men women and kids at the sangam. They were pushing and shouting, abusing aggressively.

I was at pole 123. I was actually in the middle of the stampede. The stampede occurred from pole 101 to 150. This stampede lasted for 30 minutes, but the recovery process took about an hour, and after that, we all started to leave the Sangam point.

This spot was just 2 blocks from "edge of water" at the Sangam point.

My take, - millions of devotees, were all peaceful, and everything was going peacefully. Until these hooligans created havoc. One of the survivors whom I was chatting while leaving, mentioned some of these hooligans were drunk with alcohol.

I think this stampede was engineered with bad intentions. Hence it didn't last for more than 30 minutes and was localized around these hooligans activities.

2) Also it did not spread to other parts of Mahakumbh, the Mahakumbh area is very very big, the devotees and Police system at other places were all going good.

Prayers for those who got moksha. Pray again for injured and separated dependents.

I request the Union Govt to immediately start screening of all flights from China & be prepared to stop flights from CHINA as their nation (China) seems to have had an outbreak of the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV). Also request the health ministry to have a plan ready for our vulnerable citizens!
