I’ve kind of lost a good deal of interest in the World Cup after the absolute nonsense against Iran. They should have qualified for the knock outs. Hard to bother with a tournament so obviously corrupt, ridiculous, FIFA totally okay with the US/Canada terrorizing countries.
Despite all the oppression and sabotage by the US and FIFA, the Iranian football team showed that, like the country of Iran, which has become stronger than before the war, it emerged with more authority in these tournaments. We are very grateful to the players and technical staff of the national football team and wish them success in the future.
Ramin Rezaeian reacts to Iran’s dramatic 1-1 draw with Egypt, sending an emotional message to the Iranian people (translated from Persian):
“I don’t know what to say. I don’t know why we have such bad luck—once, twice, three, four, five times.
I don’t know what our people have done to deserve this.
I hope we can still qualify so they can feel better, they deserve more than this.
We fought as hard as we could. It didn’t matter if we had died tonight. We just wanted to make our people happy.
We have been fighting for months. We never asked for anything in return.
Every one of these players is honorable. We played for the love of our people.
People of Iran, we love you so much. I am sorry, that is all I can say.”
Iran's Ramin Rezaeian in Tears:
It didn't matter if we died today or whatever we just wanted our people to be happy.
People of Iran, we love you and I can only say sorry.

Iran’s captain was asked about LGBT rights. So, why then wasn’t the U.S. team captain asked about the U.S. bombing of the girls' school in Minab, asks @fbhutto ?

Kylian Mbappé:
“Sports betting is destructive. It has ruined the lives of some people I know. That's why I refused to appear in sports betting advertisements. Many of us come from the suburbs, and it destroys the lives of countless people there.”
Funny how some teams get asked about football… and others get asked to explain the world.
Shoutout to the Iran team for carrying that weight.

🇩🇿 Truth is out. Algeria's captain Mahrez admits: "I had to score against Austria. I know it's embarrassing." Translation: the result was fixed. They advance. Iran pushed out. This is cheating. Now FIFA must investigate. But they won't. 🇮🇷
Guys, I’m starting to think killing the ayatollah who issued a fatwa against developing a nuclear weapon that held since 2003 may have been a mistake…..
After two late goals in another game sealed Iran’s fate, Team Melli was left to rue one of the most brutal exits in World Cup history.
