Never mind 2,500 children being hospitalised because of malnutrition, weโll give ยฃ1.2bill to Virgin Airways to help them out. This government is beneath contempt.
@JulesAllenxx@ThunderShirt Poor Baby Frank. Iโve got a strange sound thingy from the Dogs Trust. Iโve played it and Molly stopped and listened. I donโt know if it will work when fireworks are going off. ๐ ๐โ๐ฆบ๐บ๐ธ๐บโญ๏ธx
This morning was a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful connections happen when you least expect them.
I went to collect a very generous donation for the staff raffle I'mย organising from a picture shop in Brighton: a framed, signed, limited-edition print worth ยฃ195.
I started chatting to the Managing Director and his associate, and within minutes, we had an immediate connection. One of them shared that his brother is dying from a brain tumour.
Suddenly, our conversation became about so much more than a raffle donation.
We exchanged email addresses, and I promised to contact his mother, who has no one to talk to who truly understands brain tumours and what families go through. I hope I can offer her some support, understanding and a listening ear, because I know only too well how isolating this journey can be.
What really touched me was what they said about Charlotteโs BAG. They told me how much they appreciated the fact that we are a self-funding charity, and that 100% of the money raised through our raffle goes directly to brain tumour research.
For a small charity run alongside everyday life, with no paid staff and no budget for administration, those words meant a great deal.
So often, the work that goes on behind the scenes is unseen. But every donation, every conversation and every connection helps us continue Charlotteโs legacy and fund vital research.
Today, I collected a beautiful picture for our raffle, but I came away with something far more meaningful: a reminder that behind every brain tumour diagnosis is a person, a family and a story that deserves to be heard.
Thank you to this wonderful business for your generosity, your kindness and for believing in what Charlotteโs BAG stands for.

The public wants public OWNERSHIP, not public CONTROL. We Own It's new report explains how Andy Burnham can deliver public ownership. I have just sent the report to my MP. Can you take 2 mins now to send it to your MP too? @We_ownit https://t.co/IqYHjkFTzv
