Thanks for your patience, @elangelo_mike and @gotojedi, and apologies for the inconvenience.
For your case, @elangelo_mike, since you have already unbonded, you should now be able to withdraw directly via our front end.
For your case, @gotojedi, it appears you are still holding milkTIA. You will need to swap it through Osmosis DEX to receive the underlying asset, TIA. To minimize slippage, we recommend waiting a few days, as we have coordinated with operators to forcefully unbond all TIA, which will be added to the pool once ready.
It’s with a heavy heart that I share this: we’ve made the difficult decision to shut down MilkyWay Protocol permanently.
This isn’t the outcome we hoped for. But after exhausting every path we could find, we’ve decided the most responsible thing to do is to close things down with clarity and care. Simply put, we couldn’t find a sustainable way forward that aligned with our standards and responsibility to everyone involved.
We didn’t start with a grand vision. We started with nothing but hustle and hunger. We saw an opportunity in Celestia’s early days and built the first LST for it. With a small but driven team and the support of amazing friends we've known, we managed to punch far above our weight. We expanded across networks, hit meaningful milestones, and built products we were proud of.
But the reality is: not everything clicked.
Modular ecosystems are steadily maturing, but the DeFi growth curve was slower than we’d initially expected. Restaking demand peaked earlier and vanished quickly, and our RWA plans were disrupted before execution. And lastly, by the time we were ready to go live with WayCard, we had limited time and capital left to find PMF.
We fought through every market shift. We adapted. We pushed. But in the end, we couldn’t outrun the clock.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who supported us along the way. Your belief in what we were building gave us the momentum to reach further than we ever could have on our own.
I sincerely apologize to anyone negatively affected. This isn’t how I hoped things would unfold, but I remain grateful for every step, every lesson, and every person who walked it with us.
We’re now focused on shutting things down the right way. If you’re a MILK holder, staker, or LPer, please read through the full announcement to understand what happens next and how we plan to distribute the accrued final protocol fees to you all.
@yenicherry80 We informed the group prior to the announcement, and walked them through our plan to compensate them. I am sure you will be notified in the near tuture.
@Cointelegraph this is how every generational shift looks early on.
younger users adopt what feels native to them, while older ones wait for certainty.
@Cointelegraph when large banks start testing stablecoins and custody directly, it means they’re preparing for these rails to become part of standard operations
@APompliano markets tend to front-run the Fed, but that doesn’t always mean the committee follows immediately.
the credibility test is less about timing and more about whether the path stays consistent with the data
@Cointelegraph RWA momentum keeps picking up
when the infrastructure gets smoother, the capital usually follows and this looks like that phase starting to play out
