🚨 John Terry on Marc Cucurella's Chelsea exit:
🗣️ “Marc Cucurella leaving Chelsea should be a warning sign, not just another transfer story.
For the last few years, we've heard a lot about the project, the future, and the long-term vision. That's all fine, but football players don't have unlimited time. The best players want to compete for the biggest trophies now, not spend year after year waiting for promises to become reality.
Cucurella fought for this club. He went through criticism, difficult moments, and came out stronger. He won over the fans through hard work and commitment. Those are exactly the type of players you should be building around, not losing.
What worries me is that this may not be the last one. If Chelsea continue to lose experienced and proven players, others will start asking themselves the same questions. Every top player wants to know the club is moving forward.
When players begin to believe they have a better chance of achieving their ambitions elsewhere, they will leave. It doesn't matter how talented the squad is on paper.
And let's be honest, if established players keep leaving, it will become harder to convince elite players to join. Top footballers look at everything. They look at the squad, the ambition, the stability, and whether the club is moving in the right direction. If they see proven players walking away, they'll start wondering why.
I don't blame Cucurella. He has given everything to Chelsea and earned the right to make a decision for his career. But the board must understand that supporters can accept a project only for so long. At some point, the project has to deliver.
Because if it doesn't, Marc Cucurella won't be the last important player saying goodbye to Chelsea...”

Speaking at the Next Steps Conference on Reparatory Justice, he said reparative justice should not end with monetary payments but must also address historical memory and acknowledgment of past wrongs.
