Today I audit my own project. A community road serving me and my neighbors. We did excavation, leveling, compacting, road kerbs and cabro works. The project started on one month ago its almost complete.
This scandal keeps repeating because the system rewards contractors who pay upfront to get tenders, then drag work while collecting payments.
We outrage over the theft, but rarely question how the same weak procurement rules allow it every time.
Real change starts with demanding transparent tenders long before elections.
The Misikhu- Naitiri- Brigadier Road was allocated 1.2 Billion in Phase 1 and 700 Million in Phase 2. The contractor has been paid 940 Million in Phase 1 where he did only 2 kilometers plus 115 Million in Phase 2 which has pot holes few months later. The governor knows more because the momey was paid in his office at Bungoma County Government.
Please remind our people that poverty is not bad luck or witchcraft its a result of bad voters who endorse bad leadership because of clanism, tribalism and cash handouts.
@ntvkenya We call on the authorities to act immediately, ensure everyone arrested is released as directed, and remind all officers that no one is above the law.
Letโs stand together for fairness, respect, and unity. โ
@ntvkenya As online drivers, weโre deeply disappointed and hurt. The CS showed leadership and goodwill, yet some people are working against that spirit of peace.
@ntvkenya .......payments for their release.
We honestly donโt understand why some officers still choose to disobey the CSโs orders, especially when the driversโ only โoffenseโ was peacefully picketing, at a time when the government is calling for dialogue and reconciliation.
@ntvkenya Itโs really sad to see whatโs happening at Capital Hill Police Station ๐
Even after CS Davis Chirchir clearly granted amnesty to all arrested online drivers, the OCS at Capital Hill has chosen to defy that directive, continuing to hold our colleagues and even demanding cash
