An ode to the champ🥇
I’ve said this before, but being able to cover championship content is always special, especially for a team/athlete who truly deserves it. Congrats champ, @isaactrumble_ You did the hard work, I just blessed to be able to recreate it.

Honoring Coach Bob Guzzo. A true friend of Amedeo’s and a pillar of the #Wolfpack family. We lost a great one, but his presence, his laugh, and his stories and spirit will always live here. #GoPack#RIP, Bob. 😇🐺🤼
It was a special night on April 25 to see @PackWrestle Coach Bob Guzzo enter the @PackAthletics HOF. He powered through the day with that classic Guzzo smile. So glad he got to experience that day.
Rest easy Coach Guz.
@Tony_Rotundo here’s my perspective since I’m so obvious in the pic…Trexler Ct in Raleigh created some dominant heavyweights for the NCAA and U.S. Army LOL
Roomies for years, happy that @owentrephan_ was able to fly in last minute to cheer on @isaactrumble_ and photobomb all our finals pics
It was a banner weekend for NC State:
Thursday: Freshman swimmer Eneli Jefimova won the 100-yard breaststroke national title.
Saturday: Sixth-year senior wrestler Isaac Trumble won the heavyweight national title.
Championships live in Raleigh.
I guess Trumble rhymes with humble
In my time covering NCSU, I don't think I have ever spoken with an athlete as dominant yet also as respectful as Isaac Trumble.
Trumble would literally thank me for covering the Pack. He is the best possible representive for NC State.
Isaac Trumble just won the 10th National Championship in NC State wrestling history. He’s the fifth National Champion under Pat Popolizio.
You read that right: Half of the Wolfpack’s individual champions have been produced by Coach Pop.
Buesgens brought it 😤
Take a look back at No. 8 Koy Buesgens (149 lbs) handing Cornell’s No. 2 Jaxon Joy his first loss of the season in sudden victory. The victory is Buesgens’ highest-ranked win of his career.
