Happy Sunday CX 🌝
Muslim: Your Bible is corrupted.
Me: Okay… and?
Muslim: It’s altered and full of contradictions.
Me: Alright, noted.
Muslim: Jesus didn’t write the Gospels.
Me: True.
Muslim: The Gospel writers are anonymous, so it’s unreliable.
Me: Exactly why I don’t see how “Muhammad is mentioned in a corrupted Bible” so the Quran is wrong for saying he was mentioned.
Muslim: He is in the Bible! How can you say the Quran is wrong?
Me: Oh okay… where exactly?
Muslim: Deuteronomy 18:18, Isaiah 42, John 17, Song of Solomon.
Me: Interesting. So is the Bible still corrupted or not?
Muslim: Well… not all of it is corrupted.
Me: So it’s corrupted… but also trustworthy… depending on the argument?
Muslim: We only accept the parts that agree with the Quran.
Me: So a corrupted book becomes reliable… when it agrees with your conclusion?
Muslim: It’s not completely corrupted, just partially.
Me: So… half-trust it when convenient, half-discard it when inconvenient?
Muslim: The Quran is the final preserved truth.
Me: Got it. You said Isaiah 42 is about Muhammed right?
Muslim: Yes, Isaiah 42 is about Muhammad. The prophecy points to a prophet arising in Arabia.
Me: Okay, let’s read it: “Behold My Servant… I have put My Spirit upon Him…”
So does Allah have a spirit?
Muslim: No, Allah doesn’t have a spirit but it means Jibril.
Me: But it literally says “My Spirit” and “put upon Him.”
Muslim: You’re misinterpreting it, it doesn’t mean that exactly.
Me: So the text says one thing… but it means another thing when needed?
Muslim: That’s not what it means.
Me: So what does it means?
Muslim: To you is your religion, and to me is mine, there is no compulsion in religion.
Me: uhm😅
Imagine fishing for hours and not catching any fish. Not one.
Now it’s dark, cold.
You’re hungry, thirsty, tired, bones aching, disappointed, beating up on yourself, wishing you never came.
You’ve given up.
You know everyone’s back home depending on you and now you have to deliver disappointing news.
Then out of nowhere, your best friend appears.
You tell him you came in vain—
you caught no fish.
He tells you to try again on the right side.
You look at him like he’s gotta be crazy.
You’ve been there for hours, you know for a fact the net will be empty when it comes back up again.
You do it anyway…
and would ya look @ that…
Net full.
Do you realize that your best friend is the final boss?
The one who loves & adores you is in charge.
The ocean waves turn which ever way he commands.
The hearts of the Kings are in his hands.
My goodness, I love him so much.
