It's been a few years since I watched #2001SpaceOdyssey and the relevance of this shot to today's world hit me anew. The astronauts don't talk to each other--they're absorbed in their tablets watching the same program.
@RealBeano I just noticed HBOMax has the theatrical cut, with the director's cut as an extra with no comment about it (there's just a 2:19 version as an extra). Sometimes you think they don't even know what they've got on their app.
@RealBeano I noticed it was gone last week. Let's hope it resurfaces in some form in the not-too-distant future. People have been waiting for either Criterion or Indicator to release a blu-ray of the uncut version.
@MrMattPatterson Any time the Warner Bros - Seven Arts logo comes up, you should be tagged. @WarnerArchive should sell gear with that logo! (And I meant "some" not "since" in the tweet.)
@RealBeano Oh, but I forgot some of my favorite quirks: Twitter says there's a reply I want to see, but then I click and then there's nothing. And never mind that private Twitterers can quote retweet my tweets and I can't see them. Forget about it.
Day 2 of sort of breaking my long-term Twitter embargo and I just scrolled down and down--and I didn't see anything that Twitter decided to insert to piss me off. Hmmmm.
#NowWatching CALIFORNIA SPLIT (1974) on @PrimeVideo via @AppleTV. Been meaning to revisit this one since I first saw it last summer, when I wasn't sure I actually liked it. Now I'm sure I absolutely love it. #RIPGeorgeSegal
@RealBeano Never seen it, but heard of it, heard the podcast and was fascinated by Soderbergh's reaction, bought the digital last night on sale. Way into Xmas movies just now, though.
