Imagine hiring people to do everything a stay at home parent often does.

Childcare. Cooking. Cleaning. School runs. Laundry. Appointment scheduling. Household management.

The cost would be substantial.

Yet when one person performs all these tasks inside their own home, society often treats the work as if it has no financial value.

Supporters of structured compensation argue that the problem is not a lack of work. The problem is a lack of recognition.

The fact that money does not change hands each month does not mean valuable labour is not being performed.

A family’s income is often only possible because someone else is handling everything that allows that income to be earned.

If your wife is a stay at home mum, consider paying her a monthly salary separate from the money used to run the household.

Household expenses are for the family. A salary recognises her time, effort, and the value she brings through raising children, managing the home, and supporting the family.

Just because her work is unpaid by society does not mean it is without value.

Or a more direct version:

If your wife stays home to raise the children and manage the household, give her a monthly salary in addition to the money allocated for household expenses.

Running a home and raising children is work. The fact that it is done out of love does not make it any less valuable.

Children would often rather come from a broken home than be forced to live in one.

Living in a home filled with constant conflict, tension, disrespect, fear, or emotional neglect can leave deep scars.

Many children do not need perfect parents. They need peace, stability, love, and a sense of safety.

Sometimes, two parents living apart but co-parenting with respect can provide a healthier environment than two parents staying together while exposing their children to daily arguments, resentment, and unhappiness.

The goal should never be to keep a family together at all costs. The goal should be to create a home where children can grow, feel secure, and learn what healthy relationships look like.

A broken marriage does not automatically break a child. But a toxic home can.
