When people do not hear the Gospel, it is not because you failed to present it clearly. People rejected the words of Christ Himself. People reject the Gospel because it threatens to separate them from the love of their life—their sin.
@Rock_Hard_Abbbs He always knows where I’ve left my phone (I lose it a lot) and makes sure I bring a sweater with me to public places (I’m usually freezing). And! He takes the dog out in the morning so I can sleep 15 extra minutes.💜
“A man gave a banquet and invited many... But they made excuses. One said, ‘I bought a field...’ Another, ‘I bought five yoke of oxen...’ Another, ‘I married a wife.’” Luke 14:16-20
Christ is spurned not as unreal, but unpreferred. Not as less true, but less desired.
Truth without love is harshness; it gives us information but in such a way that we cannot really hear it. Love without truth is sentimentality; it supports and affirms us but keeps us in denial about our flaws.
When a ministry interrupts intimacy with God, you do not rethink intimacy with God. You rethink the ministry. If you stay in it just for the livelihood, you may keep your salary, but you will ravage your soul. Just because it’s a ministry or church doesn’t mean God’s in it.
