@cpt_macheath @legendofmi I've been saying this for years.
I'd pay new game prices for it.
And don't, for the love of all that's holy, reinvent or redraw the art style, or the user interface.
Just upscale it to a higher resolution, allowing for widescreen, and remaster the audio.
@HarryBailey Yeah, no one wants to hear that.
What people want to hear is "you're 90% of the way there, let's figure out the last 10% together".
Often, you already know what that 10% is, and you're being paid to convince them to run that journey.
That's the work π
@HarryBailey On the flipside "coach" is a tainted term & I'm wary of calling myself one - even though I am one.
It's easier to frame your value as "this one way will solve everything", compared to the messy "we need to get into the details & try & fail a bit until we improve".
@HarryBailey When I joined we were building websites for a small toy maker & a cosmetics company.
When I left we'd rebuilt the Australian Ballet's online ticketing platform & redesigned Australia's biggest every-day clothing brand.
We'd barely doubled in headcount, to about ~25 people.
@HarryBailey It massively helps.
I worked at an agency that regularly chased & won awards, and the client size skyrocketed within 18 months.
The agency didn't scale to it's demands though, so there's pro's & con's it π
@mar15sa Especially bands.
It's extremely rare that bands both stay afloat and viable, creatively & financially AND keep the same people along for the ride.
Bands all apart SO easily so I'm amazed when they make it work for so long.
@HarryBailey It's why working from home has been so beneficial.
Night work was about no interruptions.
Now I can block out my calendar, close Teams/Slack and just do work any time of day.
Being in the office, for me, is constant distraction.
@HarryBailey Jira is amazing.
It's best feature is the ability reflect the organisation's work style & quirks, better or for worse.
I'm actually considering becoming a practice lead for it.
It's not going anywhere (yet) and team's/org's can be setup to fly, if someone cares enough.
