This is my niece and she is a certified HERO and fighter. She has been battling leukemia. She might lose her hair, it never that AWESOME SMILE. this is her new Rory-Strong pic for September.

It’s a wonderful day for my wife. She is so lucky to have made the best decision in her life 26 years ago. Happy anniversary!

In all seriousness, I am not sure how I would cope or even survive without her. For the last 5 years, our family has faced various challenges. I realize we are not alone and many have faced more than we have. My point is that I know I wouldn’t or couldnt be the person I try to be without April. Whether it is her personal example of strength and grace, or her steady and solid love and support - she continues to be the best part of me.

My favorite human decided she wanted to sit on her Pop-Pop’s lap. This little miss has a way of making life so simple for me. I am so thankful for these moments and usually cannot wait to experience the next ones immediately.

I really couldn’t make a post on Father’s Day. I realize that so many people have already felt the experience that was new to me this year on Father’s Day. To say that I miss my dad is overly simplistic. To hope that it gets better is just plain unrealistic. The big lesson is as basic as any lesson that he ever taught me - appreciate the moments we have. If you hurt on these holidays, you aren’t alone. I wish I had the words to help.
