I think the Cardinals may eventually move to the new land they are developing in North Phoenix/Scottsdale. Michael Bidwill and the Cardinals control about 217 gross acres on the land by the new headquarters off Scottsdale Road in the 101 (roughly 185 net) About 30 acres are committed to the new headquarters. There is a lot of land left over, plenty of space for a new Cardinals stadium. Public documents haven’t shown a final land use plan for the remaining acreage by his real estate company, Rawhide, and nothing public precludes a stadium. The current Glendale lease horizon is around 2036, which gives a natural long-term window for Michael Bidwell to plan on the next Cardinal stadium…

One thing I find particularly interesting in Viking’s October presentation is the “Partnering discussions ongoing” for VK2809 and VK0214. Could this also be a strategic move to put some pressure on Big Pharma? If a potential buyer wants the entire Viking package, including all its assets, perhaps now is the time to make a serious offer before Viking signs separate partnerships. And if a buyout doesn’t happen? Viking could potentially receive significant upfront payments and future milestones from partnering those two programs, giving the company even more financial strength to focus entirely on its obesity pipeline, especially VK2735. I see a potentially bullish strategy here. Viking is creating options, strengthening its negotiating position, and making it clear that it doesn’t have to sell cheap. Just my speculation, but I like the position Viking is putting itself in. A major buyout or an even stronger independent Viking. Both could create substantial shareholder value!

The WNBA fined the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream $500,000 each for skipping the national anthem during Games 1 and 2 of the WNBA Finals.

Both teams remained off the court during the national anthem in back-to-back games.

If they don’t stand for our national anthem, they shouldn’t be allowed to play in the WNBA period!
