“It couldn't be more of a foul.
“If you were deliberately trying to get sent off, that’s what you would do.”
@jj_bull cannot understand why Ghana were not awarded a penalty against England for Ezri Konsa’s second-half challenge on Prince Adu...
Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on the debate around hydration breaks - and says he wouldn’t blame the Premier League if they chose to introduce them...
“If all these players and these countries and these federations want the money, you’ve got to do a few things a bit differently,” he says. “There has to be a bit of give and take somewhere. They’re not affecting the game that much.
“This is something I see maybe happening further around. It could go into the Premier League or La Liga, etc. Because it’s more money. They’re going to look at it: ‘Let’s dig into it and find out how much more money came into the World Cup, to FIFA, just on these breaks’.
“So I’m saying, what if it’s a hundred more million? The Premier League are doing it (in that situation). And I don’t blame them.”

Philon, on fitting into the Sixers' defensive scheme: "Get steals and being able to pressure the ball at the point of attack. To be a guard in the NBA, you have to be able to play both sides...You have to be locked in, especially at the next level."
Lions CB Terrion Arnold turned himself in and was taken into custody at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County on Wednesday night. He faces four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, which carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison.
“The foul that break Ismael Kone’s leg, committed by Qatari midfielder Assim Madibo, was a reasonably bad one - but not horrendous.
“However, it was announced on Wednesday by FIFA that he is to be banned for five games, up from the initial mandatory one game.
“It smacks of FIFA trying to make an example of a relatively low-profile player that they knew wouldn’t be a factor in the remainder of the tournament.
“Similar fouls have happened without the consequences being so dire, for both the tackler and the tackled.
“Hopefully Qatar will appeal and the decision will be reversed. But as things stand, FIFA have reacted to the outcome of an incident, rather than the incident itself.”
