REAKING: Broward County Judge Martin S. Fein has officially denied YNW Melly’s latest motion for bond, ruling that the rapper will remain held with NO BOND while awaiting retrial in his double murder case.
According to newly filed court documents, Judge Fein stated that after reviewing testimony, evidence from Melly’s previous trial, electronic court records, and arguments from both prosecutors and the defense, the State’s evidence remains “arguably sufficient to convict” and is not materially contradicted enough to create a substantial question regarding guilt or innocence.
The judge also ruled that the “proof of guilt is evident and the presumption of guilt is great,” while finding several key State witnesses credible, including Audrey Gross, Nikaya Mirhadi-Paton, Kevin Corbett, Matthew Norman, and Victor Delgado.
The order references multiple prior bond denials dating back to 2023, including rulings following Melly’s mistrial. Judge Fein ultimately adopted much of the court’s previous reasoning in denying bond, while clarifying that he was not making findings that Melly had been affiliated with violent gangs.
YNW Melly, born Jamell Demons, is accused in the 2018 killings of YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. His first trial ended in a mistrial in July 2023 after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
