We asked @JohnMorganESQ why he thinks @RaysBaseball won't work in Tampa and why he's willing to invest in the team if they move to Orlando.

@Anthony_Becht@UFLStorm@TheUFL I sure hope it's an announcement they secured a place for the team to play the game somewhere in Florida or get FIFA to approve the use.
It's an AWFUL look that the league didn't ID this issue weeks if not months ago and come up with a Florida-based contingency plan.
@DanielCane1970@JBfromSP@TBBJnewsroom@OrlandoDreamers You're right. Orange County has no money. Just a tiny $900 million TDT surplus and a task force to figure out where to spend it. At this rate, the Orlando Rays, Orlando Dreamers and Orlando Calrissians are all getting stadiums.
@DanielCane1970@JBfromSP@TBBJnewsroom@OrlandoDreamers Repeating "Orlando is not happening" is certainly a strategy. By that logic, I assume MLB has already approved my contract with the Orlando Rays as centerfielder/deputy general counsel.
@DanielCane1970@JBfromSP@TBBJnewsroom I'm not sure you appreciate just how much money Orange County gets from the TDT. Plus, @OrlandoDreamers have $2B+ in LOI from private partners. Not sure how the Dreamers and new Rays ownership marriage will work, but I'd bet Rick Workman will get them to dance together.
@DanielCane1970@JBfromSP@TBBJnewsroom Orlando doesn't need 100 acres. Tampa does, so they can create a Battery Atlanta mixed use atmosphere. Orlando already has everything the Rays need. SeaWorld, Epic Universe, International Drive, Convention Center all within a mile.
@florida_grand@GLmtneer Have you watched any of @BrodieBz videos on this? What he's done the last two years on this subject has been fantastic. He had a front row seat to the A's/Oakland divorce. Great content.

@MattFaustini@florida_grand Yankees aren't moving. Here's the wild idea. Put Rays at Al Lang where they belong (sailboat stadium!), develop the Gas Plant in St. Pete but instead of that awful warehouse stadium that almost got built, drop a soccer stadium in the middle for Rowdies. Attract MLS. Profit.
@florida_grand@MattFaustini Orlando doesn't have to develop a "Battery" atmosphere like Rays will have to on Dale Mabry. Built in already. Next door to Aquatica. International Drive. SeaWorld to the south. Orange County CC and Epic Universe to the north. Intersection of the Beachline Expy and I-4.
@Twor30@StevenACohen2@Mets With the tax, we are talking a cool half billion for this on field performance. Uncle Steve better get those roulette tables running soon.
@florida_grand And I wanted the Rays to stay in St. Pete, I was all for that sailboat stadium at Al Lang in 2007. But it's been 20 years and it's insane that there have been no shovels in the ground, even with Stu in charge.
@florida_grand Orange Co. has the tourist development tax which provides a staggering amount of money for sports stadiums. The TDT paid for over $600 million in camping world stadium renovations since 2014 and there's a lot more to give. Not sure Hillsborough can compete with that.
@florida_grand In other words, Tampa better sharpen their pencils in the next six weeks or Rays may look up the road. I took a walk during my lunch break today and saw this.
