Diego, we would LOVE to welcome you to the UFL!!!!!
Great players. Great coaches. Passionate fans. Electric, high-energy, high-scoring football!!!!!
6 months ago on the @PatMcAfeeShow we were crystal clear we wanted you in @TheUFL.
I promise you one thing, we will challenge you, push you to reach your highest potential, and help you chase your biggest dreams!!!!
LET’S F$&KING GO!!! 🚀🏈
appreciate everyone reaching out with everything on my career. my agent @malkikawa and the UFL are currently in negotiations to make this happen! whatever team I end up at, I can promise you one thing- You will get everything I got 💯
Tom,
I understand and respect that these are your personal views. But there’s a BIG difference between the @jockeyclub and @breederscup.
At the Jockey Club, the qualifications for membership seem pretty simple. Be obedient, NEVER question the Stewards, have ZERO say in their decisions, look the other way when the industry needs accountability, know how to hunt pheasants, and hopefully get some closure from having no friends in high school and being picked LAST in dodgeball in grammar school. 😂😂🤣
At least at the @breederscup, you’re SUPPOSEDLY elected by your peers.
So Tom, I decided to do a little homework on the Breeders’ Cup board and leadership. And WOW!!!!! It reads less like an independent organization and more like an extended Jockey Club family reunion!!!!!
Tom, this moment on you. In your defense, of the 14 board members, you’re one of only THREE who have never been a Jockey Club member. So I’ll give you some credit. Maybe you actually ARE trying to make positive change. Unfortunately, you’re outnumbered by the pheasant hunters 11 to 3!!!!!
And it gets BETTER!!!!!
Three board members are current or former Jockey Club Stewards.
Then there’s CEO Drew Fleming, whose connections to Bill Lear and Stoll Keenon Ogden raise some VERY interesting questions about how he landed one of the most important leadership positions in horse racing.
Let’s see. Bill Lear. Jockey Club Steward, Keeneland trustee, HISA draftsman, chairman and partner at Stoll Keenon Ogden. Is there an important racing organization this guy DOESN’T have his fingerprints on???
And Drew’s big qualification for running one of the industry’s most important SALES, MARKETING and GROWTH organizations???
He was a LAWYER at Stoll Keenon Ogden!!!!!
Because when an industry has been declining for 20 years and desperately needs innovation, creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, new fans and GROWTH, what’s the obvious solution???
HIRE ANOTHER LAWYER!!!!! 😂😂🤣
Tom, at some point, we have to stop pretending these organizations are independent when so many of the same people keep showing up in the same positions of power.
Different organizations. Same insiders. Same thinking. Same shitty results.
Mike, these are just my own views as an individual. I’m proud to serve on the board and hope to continue doing so, but I’m speaking only for myself here.
One of the biggest practical barriers is that many state-bred programs and all breeders simply don’t nominate every horse to every program. Eligibility is often an issue in achieving critical mass. That said over time , non-Kentucky-bred North American-foaled horses have already produced roughly 50–60 Breeders’ Cup winners over the years, so the BC platform has been open and successful when they are nominated and competitive.
The Breeders’ Cup has recognized that it’s harder for breeders using lower-fee stallions to pay into every program and still make the economics work. That’s why the board approved a new foal-nomination structure: $200 (half the current rate) for foals by North American-nominated stallions standing for $5,000 or less. It could help thousands of foals each year and is a concrete step toward broader participation. Hope it’s well supported.
Beyond that I would love to see an all-in-one stud fee measure put in place.
Under this setup I’m suggesting, a farm could bundle Breeders’ Cup eligibility into a stallion’s stud fee.
BC-nominated foals bring a big premium at public auction—multiple times what non-BC-nominated foals make—so there’s a real commercial edge here. If every foal by a farm’s stallions is automatically BC-eligible, breeders who sell get that premium as a standard feature.
Rolling the “all-in-one” BC fee into the stud fee at foaling also simplifies life on the farm side: one contract, one invoice, It also makes the stallion’s marketing easier for the sales team to pitch.
The best way for a state-bred/Conference BC series to work is to have everyone qualified to participate.
Rhode Island!!!!!
New England!!!!!
LFG!!!!!
A new team, a new era and a historic moment for the @TheUFL .
Can’t wait for Spring 2027!!!!!
What do you guys think about our new @UFLBreakers colors and logo??? 🌊🏈
I’ve loved horse racing for almost 40 years.
I’m having conversations, both directly and through legal channels, with The Jockey Club, Breeders’ Cup, HISA, and Keeneland.
This is all very FIXABLE!!!!!
I WANT TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION!!!!!
They can either welcome me into the decision-making process and allow me to help shape the FUTURE of this sport, or they can fight me every step of the way as the industry continues to free fall.
Four months ago, The Jockey Club invited me to become a member. I declined, but told them I would only accept the role of Jockey Club Chairman and Steward. They declined my offer.
I am not going away!!!!!
I am confident I represent 90% of people who want immediate, meaningful and impactful change!!!!!
If I MUST, I WILL challenge them legally with an UNLIMITED budget.
I am on a mission to help the people who love this sport, make this industry their livelihood including owners, trainers, breeders, horseplayers, and fans and to help secure the future of the sport!!!!!
I’m not afraid of criticism, being called a disruptor, or even an ASSHOLE. 😂
LFG!!!!!
“ALERT.” That’s how BloodHorse starts the article. The Jockey Club reports declining numbers. AGAIN.
After 20 years of watching this industry shrink, what exactly is the alert??? That the same people doing the same things got the same results???
The @jockeyclub and @BreedersCup are sitting on a combined $200+ million while hardworking breeders, trainers, owners, horseplayers and fans watch the sport they love get destroyed.
This is FIXABLE. But first, both organizations need to admit what so many people in this industry already know…….YOU SUCK AT WHAT YOU DO.
Don’t fight it. Don’t defend it. Admit it. Then we can finally start fixing it.
What is your plan to increase the foal crop for the UPCOMING breeding season??? What incentives??? What programs??? How are you involving stallion farms and breeders??? How are you incentivizing people to breed in Kentucky and outside Kentucky???
We are THREE MONTHS away from the start of breeding season. People are making decisions RIGHT NOW about their mares, their breedings and whether they’re going to breed at all. Give them a reason to say YES. Give them confidence that this industry has a future and that you’re willing to INVEST in it. We can still make a difference for this breeding season, but we MUST MOVE NOW!!!!!
Breeders’ Cup, I’ve asked you to create races for non-Kentucky-breds. Give those breeders something to dream about. A major purse. A major platform. A reason to keep going.
Help fund statebred stakes. Put some of that money back into the industry that made your organization possible.
You’re sitting on $100+ million, collecting interest while the people who make this sport possible are suffering and struggling.
How small does this industry have to get before you decide it’s worth investing in???
This is the highest level of GREED!!!!!
Jockey Club. Breeders’ Cup. We demand to know what BOTH of you are going to do, how much money you’re committing and WHEN it starts.
Show us the program???
Show us the ideas???
Show me the plan???
SHOW ME F$&KING SOMETHING!!!!!
Twenty years of mismanagement by The @jockeyclub, and look at what’s happened to statebred programs. Where’s the leadership??? Where’s the damn plan???
I’ve asked the Breeders’ Cup to create two races for non-Kentucky-breds, one for colts, one for fillies, with $1 million or $1.5 million purses.
Give these states a reason to breed. Give owners and breeders a reason to dream. A chance to win a BIG race on a BIG stage against restricted company. How hard is this???
Outside Kentucky and New York, what state can you breed a horse in with confidence that there will be a meaningful racing program when that horse turns two or three in 2029 and 2030???
Why would anyone put up their money to breed a Cal-bred or Florida-bred today when nobody can tell them how much racing will be there tomorrow???
The Jockey Club has spent 20 years protecting its own. How about protecting the damn sport!!!!!
Is breeding a stallion to almost 300 mares good???
No. It’s f$&king terrible!!!!!
I didn’t agree with 140 mare cap , and I sure as hell don’t agree with 290.
I’ve said 200 mare cap and got criticized for that. To me, 175–200 makes sense. Even if you think 200 is high, it beats 300.
The @jockeyclub completely fumbled this trying to force the stallion farms to a 140 mare cap!!!!!
Incompetence.
Get the breeders and stallion farms in a room and agree on a number.
Collaboration.
Have demand for more than 200???
Raise the stud fee.
You can protect your business AND give other stallions a chance.
Leadership. Relationships. Common sense.
Why is that so f$&kin hard???
Every year you say the same thing and every year you look stupid. Last year another great example. We had Renegade who won the Arkansas Derby and was second in the Kentucky Derby. You’ll be wrong again, but so far, in October of their 2YO season, you look “so smart.”
I sent this in a reply to hold back the Repole Renegades from attacking you. 😂
Fuck Repole.
Ray Paulick was right about that fucking clown.
Can we please get someone at the Jockey Club who isn't subservient to McKinsey or hasn't been fooled into thinking Ingordo is some kind of enlightened individual.
Hey @RGIII, thank you so much for keeping our conversation private. 😂
You’re a BIG talent on AND off the field. We’d love to have you join us at the @TheUFL as we build something special a league FOR THE FANS. Approachable. Affordable. Accessible.
You can throw for 300 yards and 4 TDs, then we can get you behind the mic as a color commentator and for a weekly UFL show.
Why stop at one job??? 😂
We’re building innovative, competitive, high quality football, developing talent, creating opportunities and having some FUN doing it.
The right markets. The right venues. And access that brings fans closer than ever on the field, on the sidelines, inside the locker room, and into the replay review. Let them hear it, see it, and feel it their teams during the week AND on game day.
As I told you, we DEFINITELY don’t want to be a No Fun League.
Let’s keep this between you and me. I promise I won’t say a word.
Let’s f$&kikg GO!!! 🏈💪
What market and team would RG III be best for???
Not a bad day for @ChurchillDowns AND the entire racing industry.
After yesterday’s breaking news, Churchill’s stock rose about 5% today. More importantly, horse racing got positive attention across mainstream business media, sports business outlets and social media.
Horse racing is a BIG sport with an even BIGGER future. Combine professional leadership like Churchill Downs with the vision and innovation of entrepreneurs like me and so many others ready to get involved personally, professionally and financially and the potential is enormous.
Sports investments have exploded over the last decade. I believe horse racing is the most undervalued asset in all of sports.
This game needs new vision and new leadership. The pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower need to step aside and let it blossom!!!!!
LFG!!!!! 🐎💪

BREAKING NEWS 🚨
Over the past four days, I’ve purchased 1 million shares and close to a 1.5% stake in @ChurchillDowns, and I may acquire more. I’m extremely excited about the possibilities.
Churchill has tremendous assets, led by what I believe is the global crown jewel of horse racing, the @KentuckyDerby. Last year’s Derby peaked at 24.4 million viewers. To me, that’s a major proof point of how BIG this sport can become.
As the owner of Repole Stable, one of the largest, most successful and recognizable stables in the country, I see firsthand the potential of what I believe is one of the most undervalued sports nationally and globally.
Horse racing needs more education, real marketing, innovation, and evolution. It also needs stronger leadership and greater accountability from the Old Guard racing entities that, in my opinion, have held the industry back for far too long.
Nobody loves building epic businesses and brands in a disruptive way more than I do.
I believe a meaningful ownership stake in Churchill gives me the greatest opportunity to help create value for Churchill shareholders AND make a positive financial impact across all of racing.
Growing this sport means growing opportunities for everyone, owners, breeders, track operators, horseplayers, fans, and everyone whose livelihood depends on racing.
I really look forward to working with CEO Bill Carstanjen, his board, and management team to help turn that potential into both short term and long term results.
Think Big. Dream Bigger.
If the @jockeyclub really wanted change, it would hire a respected sports executive search firm, open the CEO position to the best candidates, and stop treating the process like an insider coronation.
I know plenty of firms that could run a legitimate search.
I wouldn’t hesitate to hire a CEO with little or no horse racing experience. This industry doesn’t need another caretaker who knows how to protect the Jockey Club pheasant hunters. It needs someone willing to challenge it, dismantle what isn’t working, and force real change and evolution.
BUT…………my early heavy favorite and prediction???
The Jockey Club will hire Drew Fleming to be their next Puppet.
My money is on an insider hire dressed up as an exhaustive national search, giving The Jockey Club cover to keep doing exactly what it has always done, bullshitting us, protecting its own, avoiding accountability, and calling it leadership.
What are your thoughts???
Ray the Dinosaur @raypaulick, this tribute to Jim reads like a f$&king paid advertisement for The Jockey Club.
And by the way, you also say Jim is your friend. That friendship is a hell of a lot easier to understand than your assessment of his leadership.
Your own article describes a shrinking sport, and somehow you turn it into a standing ovation for the guy who lead it for 20 disastrous years.
Every initiative gets applause. Every failure gets a f$&king excuse. What the hell does leadership and accountability look like in your Dinosaur world???
Ray, just admit that this is a thank-you card for every dollar that Jim and the @jockeyclub Stewards may have sent your way, directly or indirectly. How much came from The Jockey Club???
Twenty years of this bullshit circus, and you’re still writing the farewell tribute.
That you and the Jockey Club think these bullshit articles and paid thank you advertisements showing up are going to change the mind of the overwhelming majority to the horrific job Jim and the Jockey Club Stewards have done the last 20 years is beyond insulting.
They have been beyond atrocious!!!!!
But “big shoes to fill”??? Finally, something we agree on.
Here’s a picture of them. 🤡
