ILL is coming in 2027 and is shaping up to be a very ambitious entry with franchise potential🚀

✅Game director Maxim Verehin started with fewer than 10 people but has expanded to 50, supported by publisher Mundfish.

✅Game blends survival horror with physics-based action.

✅Its linear story progression and heavy use of physics feel closer to Half-Life 2 than a traditional Resident Evil game.

Major Inspirations:

✅Half-Life 2: For the fun physics mechanics and linear journey.

✅Dead Space: Influenced the game's deep dismemberment system and its setting (a single location featuring diverse biomes).

✅Mouthwashing: Inspired the narrative, character interactions, and overall horror atmosphere.

✅Horror focuses purely on physical, terrifying creatures rather than psychological trauma or ghosts.

Game Design:

✅Layered gore system. You can shoot flesh off enemies down to the bone, and then dismember the skeleton itself.

✅Balancing this high interactivity with top-tier graphics is their biggest technical challenge.

✅Instead of just spawning in hallways, enemies will actively ambush players by violently smashing through walls, doors, and ceilings.

✅Nick Apostolides (who plays Leon S. Kennedy in the Resident Evil remakes) reached out on Discord and is acting in the game.

✅Unnamed movie directors and a surprise actor will also make cameos.

✅The team has already mapped out enough lore, settings, and "alternative history" for two potential sequels.

✅ILL is currently focusing on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with no current commitments for a Nintendo Switch 2 release.
