74-year-old Billy Joel performing "Piano Man" live at Madison Square Garden in New York, 2024.

Seeing how excited everyone in attendance was to experience this is a reflection of how incredible and timeless the music is!

Such a legend.

🗣️🇮🇹 Francesco Totti: “The best player I faced? Steven Gerrard. A Champion! An example! He would be captain of my World XI dream team.”

🗣️🇦🇷 Lionel Messi: “I think Gerrard is England’s greatest ever player.”

🗣️🇫🇷 Arséne Wenger: “He was a fantastic player who had the qualities that every midfielder dreams of. He scored goals, he could pass. He had commitment and motivation.”

🗣️🇧🇷 Kaka: “For me, and I have always said this, Gerrard will be regarded as one of the greatest midfielders ever when he finishes his career. No doubt.

🗣️🇫🇷 Thierry Henry: “I find it a disgrace that he didn’t win European Footballer of the Year in 2005 after Istanbul. For me, he is one of the best ever. Whenever you play Liverpool you know you have to get him out of the game. If not, it’s all over for you.”

🗣️🇫🇷 Patrick Vieira: “The best midfielder I would say is Steven Gerrard. I really rate him as a player and a man.”

🗣️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Wayne Rooney: “The best player I'd played for England with? I’d have to say Stevie. For me he is an incredible player, an incredible leader. He helped me a lot during my early days with England.”

🗣️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Paul Scholes: “Who was better - me or Gerrard? I can answer that. Gerrard. Gerrard’s a great player. I wouldn’t be able to do what he did at Liverpool."

🗣️🇫🇷 Zinedine Zidane: “I have said in the past that at his peak he was the best in the world. I think it was the summer of 2004 I was having a conversation with Florentino (Perez) and I told him I wanted him to partner me in midfield for Madrid.”

🗣️🇮🇹 Andrea Pirlo: “That night in Istanbul, Liverpool’s fight back was centralised on Steven Gerrard. He was their leader, their star player, their man who made it happen.”

🗣️🇧🇷 Pelè in 2007: “For me, for the last five years Gerrard has been the best player in the world.”

🗣️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Sir Alex Ferguson: “He has become the most influential player in England bar none. Not that Vieira lacks anything, but Gerrard does more.”

🗣️🇮🇹 Paolo Maldini: “His story is one of those stories to be told, one of those fairytales - just like it happened to me - to be narrated to your children and grandchildren.”

🗣️🇮🇹 Claudio Marchisio “In my own position I was crazy about Gerrard. I remember in the Champions League final comeback by Liverpool against Milan, you saw him up front, on the wings, and a moment later he was back, marking the playmaker, I have never seen such a complete midfielder”

🗣️🇮🇹 Daniele De Rossi: “Gerrard has been my idol for 10 years and is one of the best players in the world. He is the example of what all midfield players aspire to. He is always there in the heat of the battle, leading by example. He is everywhere you look.”

🗣️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Jamie Carragher: “We beat Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield and Raul came up and asked if he’d go to Real Madrid in that summer, so that is how strong the feeling was from Real Madrid - the actual captain asking if he’d sign! We used to get that type of thing plenty of times!”

Happy birthday to one of the greatest midfielders of all time. 🥳🙌

Why he means more to us than you can ever imagine..#JurgenKlopp

I have never shared this video on social media before as it was too personal and probably too emotional but I felt today was a fitting time to do so before he leaves.

My 14 year old son at the time endured a tragic incident back in 2020 during Covid that nearly ended his life but managed to come through the coma without the function to walk, talk, read & store instant memory due to a hypoxic brain injury.

However, when you get a video like this from your idol when being in Alder Hey hospital for 3 months not knowing what life we will look like going forward, not only gave Joel hope but also gave me the belief that he could do this and he will get back being the kid we all loved very much along with being back in school, running, remembering our night in Madrid and back playing the game he loves.

The world was a completely horrible place at the time and no doubt Klopp was going through difficult times himself through this period but he had the time to do this for Joel ❤️.

Since then my son has done some remarkable things…

⚽️Returned to football late 2021,
✏️Completed school,
⚫️Refs weekly at LFC Academy,
📚Completed his first FA coaching badge,
🏃🏻‍➡️Ran his 1st marathon this year,
💻About to finish college with a distinction,
🏆This week just won the U18’s Liverpool County Prem Cup,

And yes he finally got the memory of the best night of our lives in Madrid back 6️⃣.

Jurgen Klopp I can’t thank you enough for this gesture that meant so much to Joel and myself. 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽

You were far much more than just our manager!
