Really don't like that they claim this as it's not true in the literal sense: you loose any included credit with third party models like Claude.
Which for folks like me who love Grok but also love using other company models to review things, is a big deal. Be honest.
Basically it found that by switching some of the streaming plans to monthly instead of annual, and by utilizing promotions like free Walmart+ subscription that includes Peacock for free too, I better utilize the various CC perks I get.
So Grok Bot is actually pretty sick, even if it's not yet something I use daily.
It's done a few tasks for me, but the most noteworthy is it rearranged all my streaming service subscription plans so that I maximize CC statement credits. Saving $380/year plus now I get Hulu too.
We keep improving performance across Claude, and you may have noticed it starts responding sooner!
Claude Code now gzips the conversation it sends on every turn, so it reaches the model faster. Cloud sessions also start up as soon as you start typing.
Goose: my latest programming language. Safer, faster and less memory than Rust/C++ for algorithms where tightly packed, flat data structures matter.
It can represent more kinds of data structures as flat, pointer-free bytes than any language I know.

Someone used AI to create open source copies of Adobe Creative Suite apps like Photoshop et al in Rust.
Best of all they're not only available as native desktop apps but you can also download them as WebAssembly apps and run it in your browser instead if you're worried about security.
It also has a CLI and MCPs.

Blows my mind that YouTube puts 3x playback speed behind a paywall when it's literally built into browsers, they just prevent you from using it from the UI.
You can pop open Chrome Dev Tools, find the <video> tag, and set playbackRate = 3 for free.
@tomsode It's pure greed, because they know a vast majority of people won't use the feature it's worth more behind a paywall for those who do want to use it, even though it's literally built-in to browsers.
It doesn't stream 3x the data, it simply speeds it up so you finish earlier. If you were already going to stream the entire thing it's the same amount of data. Also, YouTube works extremely hard to get you to watch MORE, they don't care about the data, they want you to watch more.
