I am not a professional investor. Whatever I tweet about investing is not investment advice. I am simply voicing my thoughts. Anybody who makes any decisions based on what I tweet is doing so at their own risk. - Original JJ Investment Musings #OJJIM
Watched Dhurandhar. In 1 sentence its a substandard inspiration from Satya with a Pakistani backdrop. Does not live up to the hype created by RW nor upto the victim hood narrative of the left wing. Its just one more movie depicting rival gangsters & gang war
This guy handed me my ass.
I was trying to improve my company’s leadership & culture. I got connected with a St. Louis billionaire Bob Chapman.
The man barely said hello before firing off questions.
”What are your margins?”
”How much cash on your balance sheet?”
”Who owns the business?”
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
I wanted guidance on motivating my people. Creating a people-first culture. Personal growth.
Instead, the billionaire who wrote Everybody Matters was leaving me feeling small.
Then Bob dropped a bomb:
”I couldn’t do all this culture stuff at my company if I didn’t own 60% of the business and it wasn’t profitable.”
If you knew me before and after that conversation, you remember what it did to me.
But Bob made it crystal clear. Your culture isn’t possible without control. And control isn’t possible without profit.
If your business isn’t profitable, you don’t call the shots. Your investors, your shareholders, your lenders do.
If you take too much funding? You’re making decisions to appease your board, not your employees.
Bob built Barry-Wehmiller into a people-first company because his financial position allowed him to.
At that point in my career, I was deep in the trenches at Ampush. I built a successful company, sold part of it.
I had already been thinking about my next project, Gateway X. But now, I was thinking about how I would structure it.
No outside investors. No chasing quick exits. No short-term decision-making just to hit someone else’s financial targets.
That single conversation changed how I approached everything.
Keep my business profitable. Keep controlling interest. Call my own shots. Develop a culture that matters.
That’s exactly what we’re doing at Gateway X.
And that’s what real freedom looks like.
@godbole_shilpa Has been happening for a long time. Happened to my cousin in 2010 very close to MIT college Kothrud. At knife point he was kidnapped taken to DP road Mhatre bridge. They took his chain, ring gave him lift till NavaSahyadri society and then disappeared
Amazing how hard @ICICIBank makes it to redeem your credit card reward points. The "Redeem Now" link in online bank leads to "Logged Out" error 90% of the times. I have tried hard but can't find any place from where to Redeem on iMobile App. Seems deliberate?
What surprises me about America is that not even a fringe is asking the question Hey for over a decade we had to choose between Clinton Trump Biden Harris . All these choices suck. We need better options.
@sahilbhadviya True and not True. Yes one should be happy with 18% returns on a long term basis. But for that you need to have much higher returns during strong bull phases. If you are going to be happy with 21% in a strong bull run, you will end up with 5% in long run

Power Mech is my 4th 10X stock after NIIT, HAL & PolyCab. Don't hold NIIT anymore. Doesn't mean I am in 10X profit, as I have added more at higher levels #OJJIM
@allenholub No "Manager" role is required if xyz is good and pqr is well functioning. In reality that is not the case. A good manager usually steps in the team, fixes these problems & makes himself redundant.
