@novhakaze@hamidisiak@AgfAab@usmntonly No, your ignorance is not our responsibility. Toronto FC isn’t bottom of the table (this year), the Marlies are 2 wins away from a championship, and the Blue Jays are 2 games out of a wild card with 90 games left.
So, please, enlighten us…
@jmhorp The first time 4 WC games on one day were draws since 1958. It’s not exactly a common occurrence.
And since when are ties bad? It’s a weird metric to determine if something is entertaining or not.
“Ah man, I didn’t see some one win! A lot of great plays happened, but boooring.”
@Miner_FarmYippe@fhainhermann@TerribleMaps lol It was against American Samoa, population under 50k. They were ranked 191st out of 211… still ranked 191.
Just before that thrashing they lost to Fiji 13-0.
Not to be mean, but American Samoa isn’t all that good at the beautiful game.
@Miner_FarmYippe@fhainhermann@TerribleMaps Not even the most lopsided international game.
Australia beat American Samoa 31-0 in World Cup qualifying in 2001.
There’s a documentary and movie about the American Samoa team. The doc is pretty good. The movie is entertaining, but exaggerates things for that entertainment.
@archie_09081974@hydrationmis@TerribleMaps They did qualify once, in 1950. However, it was only because the teams above them withdrew. They also withdrew because of funding/travel issues.
Qualified once, but never played a game.
@Vfynn_ They could reduce the number of games, ads, “content” and all the extras… but then they’d have to get paid a lot less.
Their pay is as high as it is because of the “content” that is paid for and consumed.
If these things aren’t done, there’s nothing to pay for and less money.
@get_stoke_d@thehazelmae Because if he isn’t ready at 8 seconds, it should be an automatic strike, no pitch necessary. It’s the ridiculousness of him getting a warning, and then letting him argue it for a while, and not tossing him. Then making the pitcher just throw after 5-8 minutes of delay.
@MotivacionesF Why do you have to lie? If the nation at the table doesn’t speak Spanish (Brazil is Portuguese, Morocco is Arabic, and Netherlands is Dutch) Spanish translators are not available.
In that case, the question and answers are to be in native language or English. FIFAs rules.
@FedFact@TSNJR Over 70 appearances and zero red cards with Canada. I think you might be too worried about something that more than likely won’t happen. He has drawn a few in his career though.
@AdKav2@Kes1448800@CarlGottlieb I thought, foolishly, that maybe ticket prices were down a bit, a couple hours before kickoff… nope. Cheapest was still $1,200 a seat… waaaay up top.
There was a $7,200 VIP ticket that included free drinks… but alas, I am too poor.
@fatherzos@y3hi7@theoldzealand You should see the stats from their last friendly before the tournament. Against Ireland they had 21 shots toward goal, landed only 2 on target, with 1 goal.
This, unfortunately, is not new.
@TobyMichaelsTM@itsjonsbtw@theoldzealand Basic “101-defending” is world class now?
And your comment that it’s world class defending because they’re at the World Cup… I guess Canada has world class attacking because they’re at the World Cup? Strange logic, man.
