The collection did not start the way it should have.

There were mistakes in the early decisions, especially around GTD allocation, mint strategy, and the rushed reveal that followed. That reveal was done under pressure, in an attempt to protect what was left of the trust around the project, but the result was an uneven trait distribution that does not properly reflect the quality we want for Ape on Chain.

Over the past period, we spoke with collectors, listened to feedback, and looked closely at what is stopping people from joining, accumulating, and being proud to hold their Apes.

Because of that, we are making one final metadata and trait redistribution update.

This update is focused on improving the collection, balancing trait distribution, and repairing part of the damage from the original rushed reveal.

What we are carefully checking and protecting:

- Holders who spent money accumulating and still have not broken even. 195 holders have already been identified.
- Holders ranked from rarity 31 to 1000. Their positions are being carefully reviewed so their holdings are not unfairly affected.
- Holders in the above groups who also spent money hunting rarer Apes.
- Trait hunters, by introducing mostly existing traits in better distribution, with only a small number of new traits added to bring fresh value.

The update will affect 3,000 NFTs only: the current rarity ranks from 7,001 to 10,000.

Some rarity positions will change, but this is being managed with care. The goal is not to randomly reshuffle the collection. The goal is to create a healthier, better-balanced collection while paying close attention to the people who supported it financially.

The final snapshot will be taken Wednesday.

The metadata update will follow by the end of the week.

This is a one-time and final change, made with the intention of bringing more quality, better distribution, and long-term value to our collection.
