Are NFT royalties back?

Good Vibes Club has collected 143 ETH ($275,000 USD) in royalties since its mint two weeks ago.

They achieved this by enforcing 5% royalties on each sale, which Opensea allows, and by blocking the second most important ETH NFT marketplace Blur.

In the past, enforcing royalties often resulted in virtually no trading activity.

Yuga Labs tried it months ago for new collections (Kodas etc) by working with Magic Eden (and blocking all other marketplaces).

After a few weeks they shut it down again.

Today most major collections are set to 0% royalties on all marketplaces.

Are royalties a positive or a negative for the NFT space?

I would add: Be patient. It took me almost a year of daily content to reach 10k followers and get any traction.

I've seen many talented creators in the last 3 years who would have made it if they had just hung in there a little longer. But they quit after a few weeks or a few months.
