ABC10 is owned by Tegna and will air Kimmel tonight.
But many other ABC stations will continue to preempt his show, adding another chapter to a saga involving debates about free speech, political pressure, and corporate acquisitions.

"You first, Pete."
Huge thanks to @PeteButtigieg for chatting with me and @jontester about the "Big, Beautiful Bill," the announcement from Sen. Thom Tillis that he’s not running for reelection, air travel concerns and the 2028 race for the White House. Full episode out now!
I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health. The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country. Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) tells reporters she was “shocked” by Trump’s nomination of Rep. Matt Gaetz as AG.
“… this is why the Senate's advice and consent process is so important.”
"I don't think we've ever had a president-elect who campaigned so explicitly on embracing authoritarian actions and that the American people have been so enthusiastic about it."
Always a fascinating discussion with presidential historian @lmchervinsky.
We’re going to hear lots of stories about which people, policies and rhetoric are to blame for the Democrats’ defeat.
Some of those stories may even be true!
But an underrated factor is that 2024 was an absolutely horrendous year for incumbents around the world 👇
According to @TheStevenCheung, on the call between @realDonaldTrump@VP@KamalaHarris he acknowledged her strength, professionalism, & tenacity throughout the campaign, & both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country.”
In the end, it came down to 2 big factors:
1) Inflation. People are angry about high prices. The situation has improved a lot since 2022, but this chart (below) was top of mind for many.
2) Change. Americans want change, especially from neoliberalism. That's the one thread that explains how voters could go big for Obama, then Trump '16, Biden '20, and now big for Trump in 2024. There's an outcry for a dramatic shift, esp. economic.
CNN exit polling shows Trump made huge inroads with Latino men.
And Harris didn't do as well with women as Biden or Clinton -- striking because of how much focus Harris put on reproductive rights.
